Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Field Site Engineer – Electrical (Non-Western) to oversee and manage the electrical systems within large-scale power projects and synchronous condenser projects. The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or related discipline), approved by the Saudi Council of Engineers, and will have a minimum of eight (8) years of relevant experience in power projects. This role requires expertise in site supervision, construction, testing, commissioning, and operational support.
Key Responsibilities:
Site Supervision & Coordination:
- Supervise electrical construction and installation activities at the project site.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with all applicable standards, regulations, and safety requirements.
- Coordinate with other field engineers, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure that work is progressing as per the schedule and technical specifications.
- Conduct daily site inspections to ensure that electrical works are being carried out according to approved plans and designs.
Testing & Commissioning:
- After completion of installation/construction, oversee the testing and commissioning of electrical systems.
- Ensure that all systems, equipment, and machinery are tested for safety, reliability, and efficiency.
- Collaborate with the commissioning team to prepare test plans, procedures, and reports.
- Resolve any electrical issues or malfunctions during the commissioning phase, providing technical support as required.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Prepare and maintain detailed project documentation including site reports, inspection records, and commissioning reports.
- Assist in the preparation of progress reports for the project management team and clients.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of any changes or modifications to electrical systems.
Technical Support & Troubleshooting:
- Provide technical assistance to resolve any electrical-related issues that arise during construction, installation, or commissioning phases.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems, identify root causes of issues, and provide solutions to ensure the smooth progression of the project.
Team Collaboration & Leadership:
- Lead and motivate a team of technicians and engineers to complete tasks efficiently while maintaining high standards.
- Ensure effective communication within the team and across various disciplines to facilitate the resolution of any technical or operational challenges.
- Provide training and mentoring to junior engineers and site personnel.
Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance:
- Implement and enforce safety protocols, ensuring all personnel adhere to health and safety regulations.
- Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments to ensure compliance with environmental and safety standards.
- Report any safety violations or concerns immediately to management.
Project Quality Assurance:
- Monitor quality standards during the installation, testing, and commissioning phases.
- Ensure that all electrical systems are installed in accordance with project specifications and industry best practices.
- Participate in quality reviews and audits to assess the project's adherence to technical standards.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, approved by the Saudi Council of Engineers.
- Experience: Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in electrical systems for large power projects and synchronous condenser projects.
- Skills and Competencies:
- Strong knowledge and experience with electrical system design, construction, and commissioning.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with Management Information Systems (MIS) for project tracking and reporting.
- Strong leadership qualities and the ability to manage and motivate a team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies.
- Certifications: Must be approved by the Saudi Council of Engineers.
