About the job


The Field Medical Advisor (FMA) is a key role in the Sanofi Greater Gulf Medical Team. The FMA will focus their efforts on Oncology pipeline and  Multiple Myeloma and report to the Medical Lead RD & MS, while maintaining field-based responsibilities across the Greater Gulf region. The FMA role is focused on supporting the unmet medical needs of Healthcare Providers (HCPs) and Healthcare Advocates (HCAs) in the Greater Gulf region, leading to optimal outcomes for patients with Multiple Myeloma and other oncological conditions. This role is responsible for operationalization of the regional medical disease plan, including strategy development, publications, advisory boards, internal and external medical education, and KOL engagement plan, and especially internally as the disease state expert to champion the development and execution of an efficient and integrated regional medical/scientific strategy, including scientific evidence generation and scientific information exchange with all key stakeholders.


The FMA will work with the Medical Lead RD & MS by functioning as an internal expert in Oncology, particularly Multiple Myeloma.


The FMA will assist Healthcare Professionals and Payers optimize patient care and treatment outcomes through evidence-based decisions, innovation through the use of new evidence/data platforms and strategies seeking greater reach.


The FMA will establish and maintain collaborative medical and scientific relationships with key external physicians and multiple internal constituencies from several Sanofi functional groups including, but not limited to, Medical, Clinical Research, Regulatory, Science, Marketing, Sales, Commercial Operations, Patient Advocacy and Patient & Product Services, while maintaining full compliance with all relevant company, industry, legal, and regulatory requirements.


Main responsibilities:


  • Develop Greater Gulf Medical Plans including broad objectives and strategies for Oncology/Multiple Myeloma in alignment with the global  and local strategies.
  • Provide medical input to brand team regarding strategy, tactics, and development of claims for oncology products.
  • Serve as an internal expert for Multiple Myeloma and broader oncology topics and support the field-based Greater Gulf medical team in this capacity.
  • Develop strategies for and implement execution and reporting of medical advisory boards.
  • Support strategy and consideration of Oncology/Multiple Myeloma investigator-sponsored study programs.
  • Co-develop the regional scientific communication and publication strategies.
  • Partner with Clinical Development to support and develop necessary clinical trials related to Multiple Myeloma and oncology expertise.
  • Serve as an internal expert for product and disease-state training of internal colleagues within the oncology therapeutic area.
  • Lead disease specific materials development efforts as part of the relevant disease expert team(s); responsible for translating medical strategy to operational field tactics.
  • Support market access team , particularly in discussions with payers regarding oncology treatments.
  • Provide ad hoc review of medical education grants to ensure alignment with oncology-specific strategic goals.
  • Ensure ethical and credible review of Medical and Promotional activities.
  • Maintain medical and scientific knowledge through continuing medical and scientific education including attending oncology symposia and keeping abreast of the current literature in Multiple Myeloma and oncology.
  • Provide medical support & expertise to internal functions (e.g., field sales, marketing) for marketed oncology products and to clinical operations for drugs in development with a regional scope.
  • Ensure full compliance with all corporate and industry policies and legal and regulatory
  • Identify gaps and develop plans for closing those gaps.

About you


Education Level: Medical qualification


Experience: Minimum of 2 years of Industry experience


Clinical experience in related field is a plus (Oncology)


Skills:


  • Thorough working knowledge of current and likely future clinical therapeutic practice as well as developments in the healthcare system
  • Good understanding of the commercial implications of the business
