The Events & Programming Senior Manager is a key leadership role, responsible for shaping the vision and strategy for all events & programming initiatives across MDLBEAST venues. This position entails overseeing the business development and execution of diverse programming events and corporate events, from conceptualization to on-the-ground execution. The manager will collaborate closely with cross-functional MDLBEAST departments, including General Managers marketing, commercial, production, label and creative departments, to ensure that each event aligns with MDLBEAST's brand and business goals.
● Strategy Development
Create and oversee the long-term programming strategy, ensuring alignment with MDLBEAST’s vision and commercial objectives. Continuously evaluate and adapt the strategy based on audience feedback, industry trends, and alignment with market demands.
● Curating a programming plan
Lead the curation of events, performances, festivals, workshops and cultural experiences for MDLBEAST venues, each having a unique offering to their audiences. Collaborate with artistic talent, companies, and cultural partners to design a yearly programmed calendar for each venue that spans across workshops, showcases, performances, panels and events.
● Business Development & Partnerships
Build and maintain strategic relationships with promoters, artists, agencies, and industry stakeholders. Secure relationships with selected partners to negotiate and secure bookings for yearly events in each venue. Ensuring maximum visibility and financial success for each venue.
● Operational Oversight & Execution
Lead the programming implementation for each venue, supported by a dedicated team trained and managed by the Snr Manager. Oversee and coordinate on-site operations for each event, ensuring seamless execution and a smooth experience for all participants. Both corporate and programming.
● Marketing & PR Oversight
Oversee the planning and execution of marketing strategies, collaborating closely with the marketing manager to ensure all events are effectively promoted across the appropriate social channels.
● Finance
Work closely with the Venues Finance Manager and Executive Director on P&L’s of events within the venues and plan for 2025/6 to assure all is aligned within the strategy of each Venue
● Corporate Events Sales Strategy and Venue Management
Understand client needs and develop a compelling sales strategy with a strong value proposition for each Venue, to build lasting relationships with clients & members. Coordinating event logistics, collaborating with internal teams on planning and execution, and leveraging marketing strategies to promote the venue. Focusing heavily on driving sales and enhancing client satisfaction for successful events
● Membership Value - Membership Budget
Collaborate closely with the membership team to craft a thoughtful strategy and framework that brings valuable experiences and exclusive benefits to our members. This includes curating an exciting lineup of year-round programs, for example organizing VIP art fair tours locally and extending invitations to elegant soirées.
Education & Training
A bachelor's degree in event, programming or business development or a related field
Knowledge & Experience
Several years of experience in event planning, programming curation, executing conference event programming
Skills & Abilities
● Have a background in event planning & programming
● Excellent organizational and communication skills.
● Ability to work well under pressure.
● Capable of working with a variety of stakeholders, including clients, vendors, and attendees.
● Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
