Role Purpose


The Manager of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) and Fiscal Compliance at NEOM University is responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and maintenance of comprehensive risk management strategies and fiscal compliance plans. This role will involve identifying potential risks to the university's operations, assets, and reputation, and implementing measures to mitigate these risks.



KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & ACTIVITIES



Develop and implement enterprise risk management (ERM) strategies to identify, assess, and mitigate risks across all aspects of NEOM University's operations.


Collaborate with key stakeholders to assess and prioritize risks, and develop appropriate risk mitigation plans.


Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of risk mitigation measures, and adjust strategies as necessary to address emerging risks and changing circumstances.


Ensure compliance with fiscal regulations and policies, including but not limited to budgeting, financial reporting, and procurement.


Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify potential areas of non-compliance or vulnerability, and recommend corrective actions.


Provide guidance and support to departmental managers and staff on risk management best practices and compliance requirements.


Develop and deliver training programs on risk management and fiscal compliance for university staff and stakeholders.


Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to enterprise risk management and fiscal compliance.


Prepare reports and presentations for senior management and governing bodies on the university's risk profile, compliance status, and recommended actions.


Collaborate with internal and external auditors to facilitate audits and ensure compliance with audit requirements.



BACKGROUND, SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS



Knowledge, Skills and Experience


  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, accounting, risk management, or a related field.
  • Certified Risk Management Professional (CRMP), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), or similar certification preferred. If no certifications a master degree or PhD is highly preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in enterprise risk management, fiscal compliance, or a related field, preferably in a higher education or similar complex organizational setting.
  • Strong understanding of risk management principles, practices, and methodologies.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to identify and assess risks, and develop effective risk mitigation strategies.
  • Thorough knowledge of fiscal regulations and compliance requirements, with the ability to interpret and apply complex regulatory guidelines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability, with experience leading cross-functional teams and driving organizational change.
  • Proficiency in risk management software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
