About the Role:
Join our team as an HSE, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the implementation and adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards throughout the duration of the airport construction project. You will play a crucial role in safeguarding the well-being of all personnel involved in the project, preventing accidents, and minimizing environmental impact.
Key Responsibility:
- Ensure that the airport project complies with all relevant health, safety, and environmental laws, regulations, and standards.
- Develop and implement comprehensive HSE plans and procedures tailored to the specific needs of the airport project.
- Identify and assess potential health, safety, and environmental risks associated with the project, and develop mitigation strategies.
- Implement controls and measures to minimize or eliminate workplace hazards and ensure safe working conditions for all personnel.
- Organize and conduct HSE training programs to educate project personnel on safe work practices, emergency procedures, and environmental protection measures.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify and rectify safety and environmental compliance issues.
- Establish protocols for reporting accidents, incidents, near misses, and environmental breaches.
- Investigate these incidents and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans, including evacuation procedures, first-aid stations, and coordination with local emergency services.
- Ensure the availability and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety gear, such as helmets, gloves, masks, and safety harnesses.
- Implement measures to minimize the project's environmental impact, including waste management, pollution control, and resource conservation.
- Organize regular safety meetings and toolbox talks to keep project personnel informed about HSE issues and encourage participation in safety initiatives.
- Maintain comprehensive records of all HSE-related activities, incidents, training, and inspections.
- Establish clear communication channels for reporting safety concerns and promoting a culture of safety and environmental responsibility among all project stakeholders.
- Monitor the HSE performance of contractors and subcontractors, ensuring they adhere to project HSE standards and contractual obligations.
- Interact with relevant regulatory authorities and agencies to obtain permits, approvals, and maintain compliance throughout the project.
- Encourage a strong safety culture by recognizing and rewarding safe behaviours and promoting continuous improvement in HSE performance.
- Manage the documentation related to HSE, including policies, procedures, and guidelines, ensuring they are up-to-date and accessible to all project personnel.
- Assist in the development and management of the HSE budget, ensuring that adequate resources are allocated for HSE activities.
- Prepare and submit regular HSE reports to project management, clients, and other relevant stakeholders.
Suitable applicants will have/be:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, environmental science, occupational health, or a related field.
- Professional certifications in HSE management (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA) are preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of experience required.
- Proven experience in managing health, safety, and environmental aspects of large construction projects, preferably in the aviation or airport sector.
