Job Description
- Implement, Manage, Monitor the relevant Environmental control measures at the Project, whilst ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, IMS & Project requirements.
- Develop, communicate, and train the concerned teams with Environmental Risk Assessments linked to the construction activities, as well as Environmental Job Safety Analysis;
- Develop & Implement Environmental related plans as required for the Project - Construction Environmental Management Plan (CEMP), Construction Waste Management Plan (CWMP), etc - whilst coordinating with the Project team in setting up the relevant necessary control measures.
- Ensuring the compliance with the Project CEMP, CWMP, the relevant local & international regulations, in coordination with the project members, by conducting regular inspections, audits, site walks, etc.
- Conduct environmental awareness trainings, induction, environmental drills and TBT’s., at the Project, as relevant to the Project stage and nature of activities.
- Actively assist in the investigating and reporting of all environmental incidents and near misses.
- Conduct regular audits of Contractor and Subcontractors,
- Assess Project environmental protection compliance and report findings to Project SHES Manager.
- Proactively initiate and implement Environmental initiatives at the Project.
- Attend Management, Client site walks, etc. Attend Progress Meetings, Subcontractor Meetings, etc., as required
- Perform regular Site Environmental Inspections & relevant Reporting;
- Perform Environmental Internal Audits as part of the IMS process;
- Ensure legal compliance with all environmental statutory and regulatory requirements, including liaising with the relevant team members & authorities to obtain relevant environmental permits for the project.
- Environmental Data collection at the Project for the timely documentation and reporting.
- Generate, Document and submission of the relevant Environmental reports.
- Implement effective Waste Management System, ensuring that the Project meets the targeted waste diversion rate.
- Coordinate with the site team in resolving all the Environmental Issues, during the construction phase.
- Identification, assessment, monitoring and management of air emissions, water and wastewater collection, treatment and disposal, energy consumption.
- Conduct Environmental Monitoring at the Project like Water, Noise, Ambient Air Quality, etc.
- Manage hazardous material storages and development of COSHH assessments for the chemical in the project as directed in the Material Safety Data Sheets
Qualifications
- Must have Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science or Engineering, or Civil Engineering of equivalent from a reputable university
- Must have a minimum of 5-8 years of professional experience as an Environment Engineer and must have a minimum of 5 years' professional experience in managing LEED Projects; and its documentation.
- LEED GA qualification or any other Green qualifications (CEEQUAL, LEED AP) would be a plus.
- You have specialist knowledge on Environmental Permits and approval process, Construction Environmental Management Plan (CEMP), Environmental Management procedures, and knowledge on applicable national and international environmental laws, regulations and standards.
- You have a sound knowledge on identification, assessment, monitoring and management of air emissions, water and wastewater collection, treatment and disposal, energy management etc.
- Fluent in English / Arabic is a plus.
- Must have good analytical skills and Reporting / presentation skills
- Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel & Power Point
