Enterprise Architect Job Roles and Responsibilities
We are recruiting on behalf of a consulting firm who are interested in speaking with experienced Enterprise Architects for a 12 month contract on site in Riyadh. The role involves business, technical, and governance aspects. Below are the key responsibilities categorized into different focus areas:
1. Business and Strategy Alignment
- Define IT Strategy: Develop and align IT architecture with business objectives and strategic goals.
- Business Capability Mapping: Identify and document key business capabilities and map them to technology solutions.
- Technology Roadmap Development: Establish long-term technology roadmaps based on business needs and emerging trends.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with business leaders, department heads, and IT teams to translate business needs into technology solutions.
- Enterprise Governance: Establish policies, guidelines, and frameworks to ensure IT investments align with business priorities.
2. Technical Solution Assessment and Design
- Solution Architecture Review: Evaluate and approve technical designs proposed by solution architects and vendors.
- Technology Evaluation: Assess and recommend enterprise-grade technologies, platforms, and frameworks.
- Integration Strategy: Define integration patterns and ensure seamless data flow across enterprise applications.
- Scalability and Performance Optimization: Design architectures that scale efficiently and meet performance requirements.
- Security and Compliance: Ensure enterprise-wide security standards, data privacy policies, and regulatory compliance.
3. Enterprise Architecture Framework and Standards
- Develop and Maintain EA Frameworks: Implement industry best practices such as TOGAF, Zachman, or FEAF.
- Standardization of Technology Stack: Define and enforce standard technology stacks across projects and departments.
- Application Rationalization: Assess existing applications to optimize IT spending and reduce technical debt.
- Cloud and Infrastructure Strategy: Define cloud adoption strategies (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS) and data center architecture.
4. IT Portfolio and Project Oversight
- Governance of IT Projects: Ensure IT projects follow enterprise architecture principles and business goals.
- Vendor and Solution Evaluation: Assess third-party vendors and ensure alignment with enterprise standards.
- Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Identify risks in IT implementations and define mitigation strategies.
- Innovation and Emerging Technologies: Research and introduce emerging technologies (AI, Blockchain, IoT) where applicable.
5. Collaboration and Leadership
- Cross-Functional Team Coordination: Work with business analysts, IT teams, solution architects, and executives.
- Training and Knowledge Sharing: Educate stakeholders on enterprise architecture principles and best practices.
- Change Management: Guide organizations through technology and process changes to minimize disruption.
Qualifications:
- 10-15 Years of Experience in Enterprise architecture – preferably in the entertainment industry/ecosystem
- Very good Communication skills
- Leadership skills is a must for this role
- Technical experience in business application implementation from Inception to operations
