Position Summary:
The Induction Furnace Engineer is responsible for ensuring efficient and reliable operation of the furnace,
troubleshooting issues, implementing preventive measures and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The
Induction Furnace Engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams to optimize furnace performance, improve
energy efficiency, and maintain product quality. Responsible to carryout data analysis to identify obstacles,
inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement in Plant Operations.
Major Responsibilities & Duties performed:
• Oversee the operation and performance of the furnace, ensuring they meet production requirements and
quality standards.
• Monitor furnace parameters and adjust as necessary to maintain optimal operation.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for the furnaces, including regular inspections.
• Coordinate with maintenance teams to schedule and perform maintenance and repair activities on furnace
equipment.
• Identify and diagnose furnace-related issues, such as temperature variations, energy consumption, refractory
wear, and tapping chemistry.
• Analyze data, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to resolve furnace problems and
optimize performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, and maintenance, to address and resolve
furnace-related issues.
• Monitor energy consumption and identify opportunities to improve energy efficiency in furnace operations.
• Conduct studies to optimize furnace parameters, aiming to improve product quality, reduce costs, and increase
productivity.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives related to furnace operations, maintenance, and performance.
• Implement process optimization projects, such as automation, control system upgrades, and equipment
enhancements.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards in furnace operations.
• Identify and mitigate safety hazards associated with furnace systems, implementing appropriate controls and
safety measures.
• Conduct safety audits and inspections, addressing any non-compliance issues and implementing corrective actions.
Competencies/Job requirements:
Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, study and interpret complex data.
Ability to manage and perform multiple complex tasks as part of the daily work assignment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, PowerPoint and Visio.
Strong communication and presentation skills.
Ability to adapt to extended working hours.
Experience in furnace operations and maintenance in manufacturing industry preferred.
Knowledge of furnace systems, including combustion processes, refractory materials, heat
transfer, and control systems preferred.
