Job Purpose

Their primary role is to evaluate project plans, specifications, and requirements, and then calculate the projected costs of labor, materials, equipment, and other resources needed for the project. This involves providing accurate cost estimates and technical assessments for construction projects.




Key Accountability Areas

Analysing project plans:


  • Reviewing architectural and engineering plans, drawings, and specifications to understand the scope of work and project requirements.

Cost estimation:


  • Utilizing cost estimation software and industry knowledge to accurately estimate the costs of labor, materials, equipment, and other resources required for the project.

Quantifying materials:


  • Determining the quantity and quality of materials required for each project, considering factors like specifications, design, and site conditions.

Researching pricing:


  • Conducting market research to identify current pricing trends and rates for labor, materials, and equipment, ensuring that estimates are realistic and competitive.

Preparing estimates:


  • Creating detailed and comprehensive cost estimates, including itemized breakdowns of costs, labor hours, and quantities of materials.

Collaboration:


  • Collaborating with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information and clarify project requirements.

Documentation:


  • Maintaining accurate records of all estimates, proposals, and related documents, ensuring they are organized and easily accessible.

Review and revision:


  • Reviewing and revising estimates as necessary, considering changes in project scope, design modifications, or market conditions.

Cost control:


  • Assisting in the development and implementation of cost control measures to ensure projects are completed within budget.

Knowledge update: Staying updated on industry standards, regulations, and new technologies to enhance estimation techniques and improve accuracy.




Role Accountability

HR Proficiency:


  • Training of sub-ordinates and forming a team to get the work effectively.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and direction to subordinates in all aspects of their work.
  • Delegate sub-ordinates in each respective assignment.
  • Ensures fair distribution of tasks to maintain morale, motivation of subordinates.

Delivery:


  • Perform the planned activities to meet the operational and development targets as per delivery schedules.
  • Utilize resources effectively to achieve objectives within efficient cost and time.
  • Provide a periodic report formatted by detailing the deviation and execution of planned tasks.

Problem-Solving:


  • Resolve any related problems arise and escalate any complex operational issues.

Quality:


  • Ensure quality requirements to develop effective quality control and processes including specifications for products or processes or related activities.

Business Process Improvements:


  • Coordinate well-defined written systems, policies, procedures, and seeking automations opportunities as much as possible.

Compliance:


  • Comply to related policy and procedures and work instructions.
