Job Description
Job Purpose / Objective :
Responsible for all embryology procedure, laboratory procedures, quality control and quality assurance of In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) laboratory.
Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities :
- Responsible for the daily Embryology laboratory procedures in the department.
- Receive and processes samples on a daily basis.
- Ensure that the laboratory is clean at all times and checks the equipment for temperature and proper functioning.
- Assist the Laboratory Manager in performance of daily duties.
- Analyze the samples and compute results. Prepare Laboratory results for patients.
- Prepare dishes for cultures and prepare mediums for cultures.
- Maintain level of gases in equipment for their proper functioning.
- Suggest patient for further investigations when required.
- Demonstrate a clear understanding of techniques and Procedures related to sterilization and disinfection of equipment and supplies.
- Perform daily duties of oocyte retrieval, identification, de-coronation, grading, insemination, fertilization check-up, embryo cleavage grading, embryo transfer and cryopreservation, AH, ICSI procedure and embryo biopsy.
- Prepare monthly and yearly statistics for results and report them to In-Vitro Fertilization (IVF) Laboratory Manager.
- Coordinate with the maintenance engineers for servicing of the laboratory equipment’s under supervision of laboratory manager.
- Provide patient and family education as per need.
- Participate in person-centered care initiatives undertaken by HMG.
- Enrich patient experience with compassion, respect and dignity.
- Perform other applicable task and duties assigned within the realm of his/her knowledge, skills and abilities.
Education/ Professional Qualification:
- Preferably, Bachelor of Science
- Biology/ Laboratory Technology
Experience:
- At least Five (5) years of relevant experience. Experience in special laboratories of Infertility Treatment and Fertilization and Embryos will be given preference. If the minimum qualification doesn’t meet then that will be covered by Eight (8) years of experience.
Professional Licensing / Certification / Training:
- Certification: Relevant certifications
- Licensing : Saudi Council for Health Specialties
