Electromechanical Engineer – Factory Operations & MaintenanceJob Summary:We are looking for an experienced Electromechanical Engineer to manage, maintain, and troubleshoot the full range of production machinery in our chocolate and ice cream factory. This includes enrober machines, cooling tunnels, freezer tunnels, packaging machinery, ovens, and small auxiliary machinery. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation, preventive maintenance, and rapid resolution of technical issues related to both mechanical and electrical systems, with a strong focus on PLCs.Key Responsibilities:Machine Operation & Optimization:Supervise and ensure the optimal performance of all factory machinery (enrober machines, cooling/freezer tunnels, packaging machines, ovens, etc.).Oversee the setup, configuration, and operation of machinery, adjusting as needed for different production runs.Troubleshoot and resolve issues quickly to minimize downtime, utilizing both mechanical and electrical expertise.Preventive & Corrective Maintenance:Develop and execute preventive maintenance plans for both electrical and mechanical systems.Conduct regular inspections of machinery to identify and address potential failures before they occur.Repair and replace defective mechanical components, electrical parts, and PLC-related systems.PLC Programming & Troubleshooting:Maintain, modify, and troubleshoot PLC programs to ensure machinery runs smoothly.Program new features or adjustments for PLCs as needed, based on production requirements.Diagnose and solve PLC-based issues in both hardware and software to optimize machine performance.Technical Support & Training:Work with engineers to install and commission new machines, ensuring proper electrical and mechanical setup.Train production staff on machine operation, maintenance procedures, and how to perform minor troubleshooting.Serve as the primary technical contact for troubleshooting, guidance, and support for all machine-related concerns.Documentation & Reporting:Keep accurate and detailed records of machine configurations, maintenance schedules, repairs, and modifications.Provide regular reports on machine health, downtime analysis, and potential improvements.Safety & Compliance:Ensure that all machines meet safety standards and are operating in compliance with health and safety regulations.Adhere to factory safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries.Manage machine and electrical safety checks and ensure all equipment is grounded and wired properly.Qualifications:Education: Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electromechanical Engineering, Industrial Automation, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.Experience:At least 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with a strong focus on machine maintenance, PLC programming, and electromechanical systems.Practical experience working with electrical and mechanical systems, especially in industrial machinery.Technical Skills:Strong understanding of PLC systems (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, etc.), motors, drives, sensors, and other control systems.Proficiency in both mechanical troubleshooting (gears, bearings, conveyors, etc.) and electrical troubleshooting (wiring, PLCs, circuit boards).Ability to read and interpret schematics and blueprints.Familiarity with industrial diagnostic tools and software.Conducting experiments and simulations to validate design concepts and identify potential problems.Utilizing data analysis techniques to assess the functionality of electro-mechanical systems and determine opportunities for optimization.Collaborating with production, assembly, and testing teams to ensure that designs are manufacturable and meet quality standards.Analyzing and interpreting technical data and information to create effective proposals, presentations, and reports.Soft Skills:Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently and under pressure.Good communication skills for collaborating with engineers, staff, and management.A proactive approach to maintenance and optimization.
