Electrical Systems Maintenance Technician

JOB PURPOSE



BAE Systems is the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons.

The purpose of this role is to perform scheduled inspections, maintenance and unscheduled rectification of Aircraft Equipment and associated components, Bay support, and activities for Elect/Avionics Shop. You will also provide On the Job Training (OJT) function and Production Inspections. Troubleshoots, inspects, removes - installs, repairs, and operates and associated support and test equipment. You will actively support the recovery of aircraft and associated components within the Jet engine aircraft Elect / Avionics Shop, to meet the operational training requirements and display team flying of the RSAF at KFAA. You will also maintain good engineering practice and compliance with RSAF Technical Orders in all aspects of the Jet engine aircraft Elect/Avionics Shop



JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES



  • To provide operationally capable aircraft in support of KFAA pilot training programmes through carrying out aircraft: servicing, fault troubleshooting/rectification, modifications, inspections/evaluations of aircraft systems/components and other related aircraft systems.
  • To provide technical specialty support in the: evaluation, interpretation, determinations of requisite corrective actions, performance and operational status of specialty specific aircraft systems, components, test - support equipment at the Intermediate level maintenance of Jet engine aircraft.
  • Be able to achieve and maintain Production Inspections signatory capability for authorised specific trade certifications. To obtain and maintain certifications so as to support speciality and aircraft maintenance functions.
  • Prepare items for calibration within their work area
  • Carry out TCTO’s and Special inspections when directed
  • Have a thorough knowledge of Aircraft Safety devices and Aircraft operating areas
  • Ensure compliance with tool control and the KFAA SAFO program
  • Support deployments to other bases within and out of KSA when required and be able to prepare equipment to support these deployments
  • Monitor all supply issues affecting the Jet engine aircraft Elect/Avionics Shop.

RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION



Essential



  • Qualifications: National civilian/military equivalent recognised aircraft maintenance traineeship/apprenticeship
  • Relevant type training (‘Q’ Course) and equipment specific training if required.
  • Have extensive post qualification practical maintenance experience within operational flying aircraft environment supported by formal recorded workplace applied related training OR extensive experience on same aircraft type OR successful completion of BAESSA apprenticeship programme (SNTTP/ TSNTTP).
  • Demonstrate knowledge/understanding of aircraft maintenance and engineering.
  • Understanding and application of human factors, error management, health & safety and proactive hazard analysis, appropriate to the role.
  • Relevant equipment specific training.
  • Must be computer literate with a sound understanding of the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must have an understanding and application of human factors, error management, health & safety and proactive hazard analysis, appropriate to the role.

Desirable



  • Broad Aerospace and defence company/industry knowledge.
  • An understanding of BAESSA engineering operating procedures
  • A sound understanding of the RSAF 4-1-7166 series and supporting technical publications applicable to their work area
  • Working knowledge of Q-pulse, DMS and an understanding of M&CA processes.
