Job Description
A leading Talent Acquisition Consultancy is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Electrical Engineer with a strong background in Instrumentation Engineering and Communications & Telecommunications Engineering to join our team. The successful candidate will have experience in Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) development, with a focus on ensuring the successful design, implementation, and integration of electrical systems, instrumentation, and communication systems in large-scale projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead electrical engineering design and FEED development for complex projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations.
- Develop and review electrical system design documents, including power distribution systems, control systems, instrumentation, and communication systems.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, civil, and process engineers) to deliver effective and integrated electrical solutions for projects.
- Prepare and review specifications for electrical and instrumentation equipment, as well as vendor documents and technical proposals.
- Ensure that instrumentation systems (sensors, control valves, analyzers, etc.) meet project requirements and are designed efficiently.
- Oversee the integration of communication systems (wired and wireless) for control, monitoring, and remote communication.
- Provide technical support and mentorship to junior engineers and other team members.
- Review and ensure proper sizing, selection, and installation of electrical components, equipment, and systems in line with project needs.
- Lead coordination with clients, vendors, and contractors during the project lifecycle to ensure technical requirements are met.
- Assist in risk assessments and troubleshooting during design, commissioning, and operational stages.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including electrical drawings, reports, and data sheets, in accordance with project specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure adherence to safety standards, environmental regulations, and industry best practices in all design and implementation activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or related field).
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in Electrical Engineering, specifically focusing on Instrumentation Engineering and Communications & Telecommunications Engineering in FEED developing.
- Proven experience in FEED development for large-scale projects, particularly in [sector, e.g., oil and gas, energy, infrastructure].
- In-depth knowledge of electrical systems design, instrumentation equipment, control systems, and communication networks.
- Proficiency in electrical and instrumentation design software (e.g., AutoCAD, EPLAN, ETAP, etc.).
- Strong understanding of relevant international standards and codes, such as IEC, IEEE, API, and ANSI.
- Experience in vendor management and technical evaluation of electrical and instrumentation equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to various stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks and responsibilities.
- Knowledge of HAZOP, risk assessments, and safety standards in electrical and instrumentation design.
- Certification in relevant engineering or project management fields is a plus.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience in telecommunication systems design and implementation.
- Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies.
- Familiarity with renewable energy projects or automation systems.
