Job Description
Key Role: The
Electrical Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and
overseeing the electrical systems for a high-profile museum project in Mecca.
This role involves ensuring the delivery of reliable, efficient, and safe
electrical infrastructure, including lighting, power distribution, security,
and specialized museum systems. The Electrical Engineer will collaborate with
architects, mechanical engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure the
electrical systems align seamlessly with the project’s architectural and
operational requirements.
Responsibilities
Electrical
System Design- Design and
specify electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, emergency
systems, and low-voltage systems.
- Develop
customized lighting designs for exhibit spaces, ensuring optimal visual
presentation of artifacts while meeting energy efficiency and conservation
standards.
- Plan and
integrate security systems, fire alarm systems, and audiovisual infrastructure
specific to museum needs.
System
Integration- Collaborate
with multidisciplinary teams to ensure electrical systems are fully integrated
with architectural and mechanical designs.
- Coordinate
with museum specialists to address specific requirements such as
artifact-friendly lighting and uninterrupted power supply for sensitive
equipment.
Construction
Oversight- Supervise
the installation and commissioning of electrical systems, ensuring compliance
with design specifications and safety standards.
- Conduct
on-site inspections to verify the quality and functionality of installed
systems.
- Troubleshoot
and resolve electrical issues during the construction and commissioning phases.
Compliance
and Quality Assurance- Ensure all
electrical designs and installations comply with local and international codes,
regulations, and standards.
- Prepare and
maintain detailed technical documentation, including schematics, load
calculations, and system manuals.
Specialized
Museum Needs- Develop
systems to ensure stable power supply for temperature and humidity control
equipment critical to artifact preservation.
- Design
flexible and scalable lighting systems for changing exhibits and gallery
layouts.
- Ensure
electrical systems can handle high visitor volumes while maintaining safety and
efficiency.
Sustainability
and Innovation- Incorporate
energy-efficient technologies and renewable energy solutions where feasible to
meet the project’s sustainability goals.
- Research
and apply advanced electrical systems and materials to enhance overall project
performance.
Stakeholder
Communication- Provide
regular updates to project managers and stakeholders on electrical system
design, progress, and challenges.
- Work
closely with contractors and suppliers to ensure the timely delivery of
equipment and materials.
Recommended
Technical Skills- Proficiency
in electrical design software such as ETAP, AutoCAD Electrical, or Dialux for
lighting design.
- Strong
knowledge of power distribution, emergency power systems, and low-voltage
systems.
- Expertise
in lighting design for exhibit spaces, with a focus on artifact conservation
and visitor experience.
- Familiarity
with building management systems (BMS) and integration with HVAC and fire
safety systems.
- Knowledge
of local and international electrical codes, including IEC, NEC, and BS
standards.
- Experience
with renewable energy solutions and energy efficiency strategies.

Minimum
Qualifications- Bachelor’s
degree in Electrical Engineering.

years of experience in electrical engineering, with a strong background in

facilities such as museums, exhibition spaces, or heritage buildings.
