Job Description

The Director of Internal Audit plays a crucial role in ensuring the integrity and efficiency of an organization's operations, particularly within the Facilities & Property Management sector. This position is responsible for overseeing the internal audit function, evaluating the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes, and providing insights to enhance operational performance. The ideal candidate will possess a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of auditing principles and practices.

Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and manage the internal audit team to ensure timely and effective audits.
  2. Develop and implement audit plans based on risk assessments and organizational priorities.
  3. Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls and compliance with policies and regulations.
  4. Prepare detailed audit reports and present findings to senior management and the board.
  5. Collaborate with various departments to facilitate audit processes and address identified issues.
  6. Monitor the implementation of audit recommendations and follow up on corrective actions.
  7. Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes affecting internal audit practices.
  8. Provide training and guidance to staff on internal audit methodologies and best practices.
  9. Assist in the development of the annual audit plan and budget.
  10. Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the audit function.

  10. Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CIA, CPA) are a plus.
