About the job


The Digital Healthcare Lead is responsible for developing and supporting the company’s patient engagement strategy across several functional areas, including business, market access, communications, public affairs, and medical affairs within designated countries in the Greater Gulf region. This role helps lead the company’s ongoing efforts to build and sustain meaningful relationships and collaborate to support the needs of patients and advance the company's goals.


Duties & Responsibilities


Scope of responsibilities includes:


Digital Healthcare Solutions: 


  • Integrate insights from ongoing business analysis and assessment into a business case with a multi-year plan, including patients’ medical devices, mobile applications, and software or web portals for healthcare professionals.
  • Patient Programs: Develop and lead relevant programs in partnership with the patient community, scientific societies, and third parties, including relevant patient-centric support needed for patients with proven unmet medical needs.
  • Patient Training & Awareness: Develop, localize, and/or manage key disease awareness campaigns, product support guides, patient websites, and unbranded educational materials.

Core duties include:


  • Emphasize and disseminate understanding of how technology drives value in healthcare, supported by basic knowledge.
  • Launch and life cycle management of solutions and programs, including technical upgrades, content elaboration, patient and healthcare professionals’ disease and treatment journey mapping and adaptation, and program management to cope with dynamic patient and medical community needs.
  • Set strategic and marketing plans for medical devices and digital healthcare solutions in cooperation and alignment with brand leads.
  • Plan and implement digital patient support programs through a standardized, improved, platform-based approach to deliver better patient outcomes for the Diabetes and Cardiovascular portfolio.
  • Collaborate with Market Access, Communications, Public Affairs, Legal, and Privacy teams to identify and remove barriers to access for the portfolio; represent the perspective of the patient community in this work.
  • Develop and maintain the right oversight models with vendors, KPI monitoring, solution or program operations, etc.
  • Develop and execute impactful partnerships with government and private entities towards better disease management and patient health outcomes.
  • Ensure programs are managed and run in compliance with local regulations and company policies with vendors at the affiliate level for all programs in the Greater Gulf region. Communicate program performance internally with all stakeholders.
  • Support new Patient Access Programs / Patient Support Programs, and/or Combined Patient Programs launches for all brands in General Medicine.
  • Support business cases or proposals based on market and brand needs in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
  • Simplify and clearly communicate to internal stakeholders the complex multi-stakeholder mapping and build project management charts.
  • Conduct regular reviews of financials related to patient programs and digital healthcare solutions to identify opportunities for improvement and optimize resource allocation.
  • Train new joiners and develop materials and tools for reference for patient-centric solutions and/or programs.
  • Manage the program autonomously with all relevant stakeholders locally and coordinate effectively with local and global teams, ensuring overall alignment and consistency.
  • Ensure timely, appropriate, and legally approved communication with the patient community.
  • Navigate the matrixed environment seamlessly, influencing and informing the company with the patient community agenda, governmental efforts, and providing strategic input into the development and resource prioritization for the company’s annual patient program, digital healthcare solutions plan, and the business plan for countries in the Greater Gulf region.
  • Ensure that all activities are performed in compliance with Personal Data Protection Laws (PDPL), ISO13485, and Quality Management System (QMS) requirements for medical devices and digital healthcare solutions.
  • Build, manage, and monitor Direct to Consumer (DTC) campaigns in compliance with local and company regulations and ensure health authorities' approvals.

  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance in the healthcare industry.
  • Proficiency in using digital tools and platforms for healthcare solutions.

Education & Experience:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in digital healthcare, patient engagement, or a related field.
  • Experience in managing healthcare programs and projects.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing patient-centric solutions.
  • Experience working in the Greater Gulf region is a plus.
