Job Description

Responsibilities:


  • Oversee day-to-day construction activities and ensure adherence to project specifications, standards, and approved designs.
  • Monitor contractor performance to ensure compliance with technical and contractual obligations.
  • Provide technical guidance and review construction methodologies, materials, and engineering solutions.
  • Ensure structural integrity, functionality, and aesthetics are maintained throughout the construction process.
  • Implement quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) procedures.
  • Inspect completed works, ensuring they meet required standards and specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with project safety standards and procedures.
  • Conduct regular site safety inspections and enforce corrective actions as necessary.
  • Collaborate with design consultants, contractors, and the client to address project challenges and implement solutions.
  • Facilitate project meetings and prepare progress reports for stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate records of project progress, including as-built documentation and variations.
  • Report regularly on project milestones, challenges, and solutions.
  • Act as a point of contact for stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and alignment on project goals.
  • Oversee all phases of construction, ensuring alignment with the approved master plan, drawings, and specifications.
  • Supervise structural, architectural, and MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) works for consistency and quality.
  • Ensure contractors follow the approved method statements, inspection test plans (ITPs), and material submittals.
  • Monitor contract deliverables and ensure contractor adherence to agreed terms and milestones.
  • Review and provide input on change orders, claims, and contract variations, ensuring cost and time impacts are minimized.
  • Identify potential risks to the project schedule, budget, or quality and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Conduct risk assessments and update stakeholders on critical project risks.
  • Ensure that all construction activities meet local building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
  • Liaise with local authorities for inspections, permits, and regulatory approvals.
  • Monitor contractor resource allocation (labor, materials, and equipment) to avoid delays.
  • Advise on the optimization of resources to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Coordinate with contractors to develop testing and commissioning plans for systems and services.
  • Supervise final inspections, ensure rectification of snags, and verify readiness for handover.
  • Track and manage defects during the defects liability period (DLP).
  • Ensure prompt resolution of identified defects to meet warranty obligations.
  • Promote and monitor sustainable construction practices, ensuring compliance with green building certifications like LEED or equivalent.
  • Introduce innovative construction techniques to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Prepare detailed project reports, including progress, cost tracking, and safety statistics, for senior management.
  • Maintain accurate records of daily site activities, logs, and correspondences.
  • Provide guidance to junior engineers and site staff, fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Support professional development and knowledge transfer within the team.
  • Act swiftly to resolve any emergencies or critical issues that arise on-site.
  • Coordinate with contractors and stakeholders to manage unforeseen circumstances without impacting project objectives.
  • Manage interfaces between various stakeholders, including the client, design consultants, contractors, and sub-contractors.
  • Ensure smooth integration of all project components, minimizing disruptions or conflicts.

Essential Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or related field). Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in construction supervision, specifically on high-rise buildings and towers.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) or Chartered Engineer (CEng) registration is highly desirable.
  • Proven experience in delivering large-scale high rise & luxury hotel projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, materials, and industry best practices.
  • Familiarity with international standards such as FIDIC and Hilton brand requirements is an advantage.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
