The Job in a Nutshell💡
We are seeking a highly skilled Credit & Collection Manager to oversee the company’s credit policies and collection processes. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assessing credit risk, managing accounts receivable, and ensuring timely collection of outstanding debts while maintaining strong relationships with clients. This role requires strategic thinking, strong analytical skills, and excellent communication abilities.
What Will You Do❓
Credit Management:
- Develop and implement credit policies and procedures to minimize risk and optimize cash flow.
- Evaluate the creditworthiness of new and existing clients through financial analysis, credit scoring, and risk assessment.
- Set appropriate credit limits and payment terms for customers.
- Approve or escalate credit requests based on company policies and risk levels.
- Monitor and report on the overall health of the company’s credit portfolio.
Collections & Accounts Receivable:
- Oversee the collections process to ensure timely payments and reduce outstanding debts.
- Develop strategies to minimize bad debts and improve collection efficiency.
- Negotiate payment terms and settlements with clients when necessary.
- Collaborate with the sales and finance teams to resolve billing disputes and client concerns.
- Prepare regular reports on aging receivables, collection performance, and delinquency trends.
Compliance & Reporting:
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, financial regulations, and legal requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of all credit and collection activities.
- Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on credit risk and collection performance.
- Work closely with auditors and legal teams when necessary.
Team Leadership & Collaboration:
- Lead and mentor the credit and collections team, providing guidance and training as needed.
- Work closely with the finance, sales, and customer service teams to align credit and collection strategies with business objectives.
- Foster strong relationships with customers to facilitate smooth payment processes and dispute resolution.
What Are We Looking For❓
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field .
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in credit and collections, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
- Strong understanding of credit risk assessment, financial analysis, and accounts receivable management.
- Experience with credit risk software, and MS Excel.
- Excellent negotiation, interpersonal, and written/verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to manage complex credit and collection issues.
- High level of accuracy in assessing creditworthiness and tracking receivables.
- Familiarity with debt collection laws and regulations.
