JOB PURPOSE
Conduct the maintenance (preventive, corrective and breakdown) of all in QCs & RTGs in the most efficient and effective manner, making sure that jobs are done in the quickest and most cost effective way, keeping in mind quality and safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
Be able to carry out the below duties without direct supervision.
• Be able to carry out assigned jobs safely, satisfactorily, accurately & cost effectively
• Carry out electrical maintenance, fault finding and monitoring of the QCs & RTGs and other
related equipment and carry out the tasks assigned by Engineer & Foreman
• Conduct all preventive & corrective maintenance activities of the QCs & RTGs and other related
equipment meticulously and make sure all items in the checklist are complete adhering to the
stipulated times
• Ensure that all preventive & corrective maintenance (electrical) is conducted as defined in the
system.
• Independently able to attend breakdowns as reported by Staff & Equipment Control on
immediate basis
• Ensure accurate, up to date information is provided in the work order for input into the system
• Ensure that work order is generated (in coordination with optimization team) for all electrical
work performed on the cranes
• Submit correct information about start time and end time of maintenance activity
• Carry out duties independently when called out and report breakdowns and faults
• Ensure that emergency work is followed up by reporting to Foreman.
• Ensure work practice conforms to safety regulations and procedures.
• Ensures tidiness and cleanliness of workshop facilities and all equipment for which his team is
responsible
• Submit routine inspection and monitoring reports as required
• Number and nature of accidents. Ensure safety principles are followed
• Maintain constant communication with the engineers to ensure effective crane workshop
operations
• Ensure maximum operational availability of all Engineering Machines/equipment’s by
inspections, diagnostic work and repair methods
• Responsible to maintain safety and discipline in the work area
• Ensure compliance with Fatal Risk Standards
• Ensure compliance with Safe Work Practices
• Ensure compliance with HSE policy
• Reporting accidents and ‘near misses’ in accordance with defined safety procedures
• Experience in container in container terminals and Quay cranes & RTGs
o Mandatory: 3 to 4 years
Education
Preferable: Diploma/B-Tech/B.E in Electrical/Electronics/Instrumentation engineering
• Detailed knowledge of a wide range of industrial electrical systems, AC / DC crane drive and PLC controls specially Siemens & ABB
• Familiar with Automated cranes & E-RTGs
• Conversant with technical/ parts manuals, and drawings
• Fully conversant with safety procedures
• Good communication skills
