Job Description

The Cost Controller plays a pivotal role in the financial health of a retail and wholesale company. This position is responsible for product costing and determining the price of said products. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with various departments. This role requires a proactive approach to identifying cost-saving opportunities and implementing strategies to enhance operational efficiency.

Responsibilities:

  1. Monitor and analyze the company's product costing, focusing on cost management.
  2. Prepare detailed cost reports and forecasts to support decision-making processes.
  3. Collaborate with department heads to develop prices for the products.
  4. Identify areas for cost reduction and implement effective strategies to achieve savings.
  5. Conduct regular audits of financial records to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  6. Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports for management review.
  7. Provide training and support to staff on cost control measures and best practices.
  8. Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions and ensure timely reporting.
  9. Evaluate supplier contracts and negotiate terms to optimize costs.
  10. Stay updated on industry trends and regulations to ensure the company remains competitive.
