Role Overview
We are looking for a Cost Control Manager to be a part of our Accounts and Finance team at Calo. In this role, you’ll be responsible for monitoring and managing the financial expenditures of the company.
Main Responsibilities
Establish the cost control function from the ground up, build the foundations and infrastructure including cost control implementation on the ERP system Manage a team of cost controllers, ensuring analytical and granular understanding of COGS performance against standard costs, and trends while minimizing variances Run continuous improvement actions aiming to optimize COGS through item-level consumption analysis, waste reduction and collaboration with various functional stakeholders on delivering lasting financial impact Develop standard costing systems, lead its implementation on the ERP system and support in the setup of inventory/POS management system Lead inventory audit, count, and reconciliation process across assets and analyze deviation vs standard costing, while setting SOPs to scale the process Lead monthly costing closing (actual vs. standard) and inventory closing process, ensuring posted accounts were verified and reconciled, aiming to produce accurate, error-free accounting reports Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal COGS controls Automate COGS cost control performance reporting and enable live viewing across different business lines Support the food team and local kitchens to handle costing activities, processes, and automate functions
Ideal Candidate
A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required 8-10 years of experience in F&B - COGS Cost Control roles Problem solver and change agent. You must be willing to get your hands dirty and get things done even if it’s beyond your role. The expectation at Calo is to always go above and beyond Ability to analyze financial data and provide insights into the company's financial status with an eye for detail Familiarity with ERP and inventory management software systems is mandatory Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with other departments within the organization as well as external stakeholders Proven leadership skills: Ability to lead a team of cost controllers across 7-8 countries is crucial for success in this role * Must have a strategic mindset to participate in financial standards setting, budget preparation, process development and implementation
