Construction Project Manager

Arcadis is seeking a Construction Project Manager to join our team in the Birmingham, AL area.

Role description:

As a Construction Project Manager, you will ensure projects adhere to client requirements and business goals by developing and driving project plans, managing cross-functional teams, and coordinating activities within the established project timelines set forth by the Project Manager.  Your responsibilities will span all project phases: planning, design/preconstruction, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover.

Role accountabilities:

• Day-to-day management of on-site construction and handover activities in cooperation with the Project Manager, providing administration of project construction contracts.
• Coordinating the work of contractors and all city, state, and utility agencies and inspecting authorities.
• Ensuring all appropriate technical standards are applied during the project.
• Ensuring contractors schedule, conduct, and document all construction meetings including construction progress meetings, safety meetings, and inspections including distributing minutes of the meetings.
• Coordinating application for and approval of permits and approvals required for the project.
• Reviewing submittals for conformance with contract documents.
• Clarifying and coordinating technical RFIs when required.
• Coordinating design reviews and approvals between owner and contractors.
• Managing work to follow state, local, and Federal requirements.
• Tracking and reporting progress and updating the project schedule and costs with the Project Manager.
• Validating all (interim) payment requests from the General Contractor and all owner subcontractors.
• Reviewing contractors’ site-specific health and safety plan and verifying all safety programs align to and are consistent with Arcadis and the owner’s health and safety requirements.
• Monitoring contractor adherence to safety standards and approved plans.
• Maintaining accurate project files, meetings records and correspondence.
• Verifying contractors provide all applicable certificates of insurance prior to any work being performed.
• Providing detailed daily progress reports and photos including manpower, work performed, material deliveries, and weather or safety incidents.
• Reviewing testing and commissioning reports to ensure results are compliant with contract requirements.
• Supporting the owner’s commissioning agent in final testing and commissioning of the Project.
• Ensuring contractors coordinate all inspections and obtain final agency inspections, TCOs, and COs.
• Supporting the owner in coordinating all required operational training.
• Supporting the owner in the contract close-out procedures including organizing the receipt of as-built documents, warranties, guarantees, O&M manuals, and training material from the contractors

Qualifications & Experience:

Required Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
• 10 years of construction management experience.

  Preferred Qualifications: 

• Professional accreditation (PE, AIA, CCM, CPC, PMP, LEED).

Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
