Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Coordination
Oversee and manage the electrical scope of work for
construction projects, ensuring electrical design plans align with the overall
project goals. Develop detailed electrical work plans, including project
schedules, material requirements, and resource allocation. Coordinate with
engineers, architects, and other departments to ensure all electrical systems
are integrated properly into the project design.
Budget Management
Prepare cost estimates for electrical work and manage the
electrical project budget, ensuring costs are controlled and projects remain
within budget. Develop and maintain project schedules, tracking milestones and
deadlines for electrical installations. Review and approve time and materials
reports to ensure accurate tracking of progress.
Team Leadership and Supervision
Supervise, mentor, and lead a team of electricians,
subcontractors, and other construction personnel working on electrical
installations. Assign and monitor tasks to electrical teams, ensuring they
follow proper procedures and meet safety and quality standards. Promote a
positive and collaborative work environment, resolving any issues or conflicts
within the team.
Quality Control and Safety Compliance
Ensure all electrical work complies with national and local
electrical codes, as well as industry safety standards. Conduct regular
inspections to ensure work is done accurately, and electrical systems function
as designed. Ensure all electrical systems are tested, inspected, and certified
before project handover.
Problem Solving and Issue Resolution
Identify and address any electrical issues or challenges
that arise during the construction process. Offer technical solutions for
problems related to electrical systems, design changes, or unforeseen project
obstacles. Work closely with project teams to adjust plans or timelines as
needed to meet project goals.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering,
Construction Management, or a related field (preferred).
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical
construction management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role overseeing
electrical projects.
Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of electrical systems,
codes (National Electrical Code - NEC), safety standards, and construction best
practices.
Project Management Skills: Proven experience managing
budgets, timelines, and resources for large construction projects.
Leadership Skills: Strong team management, organizational,
and communication skills, with a focus on fostering a safe and productive work
environment.
Certifications: PMP (Project Management Professional)
certification, OSHA certifications, or equivalent safety training preferred.
Software Proficiency: Familiarity with construction
management software
Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to resolve issues
related to electrical designs, installations, or project delays
