Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Coordination
Lead the planning, execution, and completion of civil
construction projects, such as roads, highways, bridges, drainage systems, and
other infrastructure works. Develop and implement project plans, schedules, and
budgets. Ensure that construction activities are carried out in accordance with
safety and quality standards, project specifications, and timelines.
Team Management
Supervise and direct a team of engineers, supervisors, and
construction workers on-site. Coordinate the activities of subcontractors and
vendors, ensuring work quality, safety, and compliance with contracts. Monitor
the performance of the team and resolve any issues that arise.
Quality and Safety:
Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols and ensure the
worksite complies with all safety regulations. Conduct regular site inspections
to assess the quality of work and ensure it meets required standards. Implement
corrective actions when needed to maintain the desired quality and safety
levels.
Budget and Resource Management:
Develop project budgets and track costs to ensure the
project remains within financial constraints. Identify and manage project risks,
delays, and scope changes, minimizing their impact on project completion.
Procure and manage construction materials, equipment, and other resources
necessary for project completion.
Client Communication:
Maintain regular communication with clients, consultants,
and other stakeholders, providing updates on progress, challenges, and
milestones. Prepare and deliver project reports, including progress reports,
budgets, schedules, and any changes in scope or design. Address client concerns
promptly and manage client expectations throughout the project lifecycles.
Bachelor’s degree in Civil
Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
Professional certifications such as
PMP Project Management Professional
Experience:
10+ years of experience in civil
construction in a management role overseeing large-scale infrastructure
projects.
Experience managing civil projects
like roads, highways, drainage, and utilities.
Knowledge of construction
contracts, schedules, and budgets.
Strong leadership and team-building
abilities.
Excellent communication and
interpersonal skills for working with clients, subcontractors, and team
members.
In-depth understanding of
construction processes, techniques, and materials.
Proficiency in construction
management software.
Strong problem-solving skills and
the ability to make decisions under pressure.
Safety-related certifications are
preferred.
PMP, LEED, or other project
management or sustainability certifications are a plus.
