Engineering support for construction activities on THE LINE, Marina including design review, cost review, technical evaluation of contractor proposals, active participation in review and approval of contractor means and method statements..


Key Responsibilities


  • Directly reporting to the Senior Construction Manager, the Construction Engineer:


  • Develop detailed construction plans and specifications and work with contractors to develop cost estimates and project schedules.


  • Oversee the construction process to ensure that it is completed according to the plans and specifications.


  • Monitor the progress of the project and identify and resolve any problems that arise.


  • Responsible for ensuring that the construction project meets NEOM quality standards with the Quality department.


  • Responsible for implementing NEOM safety procedures and support HSW on conduct of safety inspections and training to ensure that workers are aware of and follow safety procedures.


  • Communicate and coordinate with THE LINE stakeholders, including architects, contractors, subcontractors, and NEOM sectors and proponents.


  • Champion health, safety, welfare of delivery and contractor organisations.


  • Collaborate with others with the Engineering Directorate to achieve delivery schedule requirements


  • Oversee reporting on cost vs. contract value of contractors’ services


  • Oversee coordination of contractor schedules with delivery and design & Engineering schedules


Background, skills & qualifications


Experience


  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the engineering design and/or construction industry, ideally in a marine environment.


  • Engineering experience in KSA or wider Middle East


  • Knowledge of construction management software, such as Primavera P6 or Oracle Primavera P6 Professional


  • Experience with construction project scheduling and budgeting


  • Experience working with subcontractors and suppliers


  • Experience with construction safety and quality control


  • Experience with contract administration


  • Experience with collaborative team environment


  • Sustainable construction practices


  • Lean construction principles


  • Building information modeling (BIM)


  • Construction materials and processes with understanding of the different materials and processes used in construction


  • Use structural analysis to calculate the forces and stresses that will be exerted on a structure and to ensure that it is safe and stable during construction


Skills


  • Strong Understanding of the construction process, including:


  • Construction materials and methods


  • Building codes and regulations


  • Safety procedures


  • Ability to identify and solve complex problems quickly and efficiently


  • Collaborate effectively with a variety of stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors, and workers


  • Plan and organize projects effectively


  • Manage budgets and resources efficiently


  • Strong technical skills, including proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software and other engineering software.

Qualifications     


  • Bachelors and/or Masters degree in engineering or related field
