Job description

Charterhouse is working with a prestigious international law firm which is looking to hire an experienced Conflicts Specialist who will be responsible for identifying and resolving ethical conflicts related to new business intake. This person will be based in the Riyadh office, supporting all practice areas across the Middle East with a reporting line to the US Headquarters, presenting the opportunity for occasional international travel.



About the role
The core focus of this role will be to analyse new business intake forms and conduct comprehensive conflict checks to advise fee earners on requirements necessary before the firm can accept new business. The Conflicts Specialist will work with the Director of Conflicts and New Business intake, as well as the wider Conflicts team to ensure professional responsibility is being upheld when reviewing new business opportunities to avoid any breach of the firm’s global policies regarding ethics.



The Conflicts Specialist will collaborate with a range of stakeholders and global colleagues, acting as a support to all new associates/partners joining the firm to oversee the smooth transfer and onboarding of clients and matters. Additionally, the role will be heavily geared towards drafting and reviewing waiver letters, engagement letters and requesting additional information from fee earners which may be necessary in order for the firm to accept new business.



About you
To be considered for this role,the ideal candidate should have a Bachelors in a relevant field with at least 5 years professional experience dealing with conflicts reporting within an international law firm. Our client is looking to hire an individual who demonstrates excellent critical thinking skills, ability to work independently in a deadline driven environment with exceptional communication skills. This role works closely with the US Headquarters and will require a high degree of flexibility to work outside of the standard working hours as per business requirements.
