Job Purpose:

The Civil Structural Supervisor (SAP) is responsible for supervising the execution of civil and structural works on the construction site, ensuring that all activities comply with project specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards. The supervisor will manage on-site teams, coordinate tasks, and oversee subcontractors in the civil and structural disciplines, utilizing SAP (Systems, Applications, and Products) for monitoring progress, tracking materials, and managing data effectively.


Key Responsibilities:

Supervision of Civil and Structural Activities:


  • Supervise and oversee the day-to-day construction activities related to civil and structural work on the project, including excavation, formwork, reinforcement, concrete pouring, steel structure assembly, and foundation work.
  • Ensure that all work is carried out according to project specifications, drawings, and applicable standards.
  • Coordinate and allocate tasks to on-site crews, laborers, and subcontractors based on project schedules and priorities.
  • Monitor and inspect the quality of work performed, ensuring adherence to quality standards and design specifications.

Utilization of SAP for Project Monitoring:


  • Use SAP software for monitoring and tracking project progress, material inventories, and resource allocation.
  • Ensure timely and accurate data entry in SAP regarding the progress of civil and structural work.
  • Generate and review reports from SAP to identify potential issues, delays, or areas for improvement.
  • Coordinate with other teams (e.g., procurement, logistics) using SAP to ensure that materials and resources are available as needed for construction activities.

Safety and Compliance:


  • Ensure that all civil and structural activities comply with Worley safety policies, industry standards, and local regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections of work areas and work practices to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
  • Lead safety briefings and tool-box talks to reinforce the importance of safety on-site.
  • Investigate and report any safety incidents or accidents to the site management and suggest corrective measures.

Quality Control and Assurance:


  • Implement and monitor quality control procedures to ensure that all civil and structural work meets the required standards and specifications.
  • Perform regular inspections of completed and ongoing work to verify compliance with project drawings and design documents.
  • Address and resolve any quality issues or discrepancies with the construction team or subcontractors.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of inspections, quality audits, and materials used on-site.

Resource and Material Management:


  • Manage and monitor the use of construction materials, tools, and equipment to ensure their proper usage and availability on-site.
  • Use SAP to track and manage material requisitions, deliveries, and consumption, ensuring that resources are available as needed without causing delays.
  • Coordinate with the procurement team for the timely delivery of materials and ensure proper storage on-site.

Team Leadership and Coordination:


  • Supervise and provide leadership to the civil and structural team, ensuring that all workers follow site procedures and maintain a high standard of work.
  • Coordinate with other construction supervisors, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure smooth execution of tasks and prevent delays.
  • Monitor and assess workforce performance, provide feedback, and recommend improvements or training as needed.

Scheduling and Progress Tracking:


  • Review the project schedule and ensure that civil and structural tasks are completed on time and within budget.
  • Use SAP and other project management tools to track the progress of work and report any deviations from the schedule.
  • Resolve scheduling conflicts and work with the Project Manager to implement corrective actions to keep the project on track.

Reporting and Documentation:


  • Maintain daily logs of work performed, including progress, challenges, and resources used.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports on the status of civil and structural work, highlighting key milestones, issues, and accomplishments.
  • Ensure all relevant documentation (e.g., inspection records, materials logs, work permits) is maintained and readily accessible for review.
Qualifications:

Education:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred).
  • Relevant certifications in safety (e.g., OSHA, NEBOSH) and/or construction management are a plus.

Experience:


  • Experience in civil and structural construction, with a proven track record in supervising civil and structural teams on large-scale construction projects.
  • Experience with SAP software for project management and reporting is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with construction techniques and practices, including formwork, reinforcement, concrete pouring, and steel structure work.

Skills and Competencies:


  • Proficient in the use of SAP for project tracking, material management, and reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of civil and structural construction methods, materials, and safety regulations.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve issues promptly and efficiently.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with team members, subcontractors, and management.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously to meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with construction codes, standards, and quality control procedures.
