We are seeking a skilled and experienced Civil Drafter (CAD) to join our MEP team on a high-profile Tunnel Construction MEP Fit-Out project. The Electrical Draughtsman will be responsible for producing accurate and detailed technical drawings, layouts, and as-built plans for the electrical systems within the tunnel infrastructure. The role demands a deep understanding of tunnel-specific electrical design requirements, coordination with multidisciplinary teams, and adherence to stringent safety and technical standards.
Responsibilities:
- Drafting and Design Development:
- Prepare detailed 2D and 3D drawings for civil and structural components related to tunnel construction and MEP fit-out, including layout plans, elevations, sections, and detailed views.
- Produce high-quality, accurate drawings and plans for civil and MEP elements, including drainage systems, ventilation, lighting, HVAC, fire protection, and utility systems.
- Convert design concepts from engineers and architects into precise technical drawings, ensuring adherence to project specifications and standards.
- Update and modify existing drawings as per project revisions or client feedback, ensuring version control.
- Coordination with Engineering Teams:
- Work closely with engineers, MEP designers, architects, and project managers to integrate civil and MEP elements within the tunnel environment.
- Coordinate with the site team to ensure that drawings are feasible, constructible, and compliant with safety regulations.
- Participate in project meetings to discuss design changes, address technical challenges, and collaborate on solutions.
- Quality Assurance and Documentation:
- Ensure all drawings comply with relevant local, national, and international standards, including building codes and safety regulations.
- Adhere to the specific requirements of tunnel construction, including load-bearing structures, waterproofing, fireproofing, and other critical aspects of tunnel safety.
- Ensure that MEP system layouts in tunnels meet all relevant technical standards and project specifications.
- Field Coordination and Support:
- Visit the tunnel construction site as required to gather precise measurements, verify installation progress, and update drawings based on real-time feedback from the site team.
- Provide support to site engineers and supervisors by explaining complex drawings and clarifying technical details as required.
- Assist in resolving on-site design or drawing issues that may arise during construction or MEP installation.
- BIM Integration:
- Assisting BIM modeling and coordination for mechanical services, ensuring 3D models are compatible with overall project BIM requirements.
- Participate in clash detection and resolution meetings to ensure seamless MEP system integration.
Requirements:
- Education:
- Diploma/Advanced Diploma in Civil Engineering or relevant field.
- Certification in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, or equivalent drafting software is highly preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Civil Draughtsman, with at least 2 years working on tunnel construction or MEP fit-out projects.
- Hands-on experience with MEP fit-out works, particularly civil and artchitectural systems within tunnels or underground structures.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and other industry-standard drafting tools.
- Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) tools and methodologies.
- Knowledge of civil engineering principles, MEP systems, and tunnel construction techniques.
- Ability to create detailed 2D and 3D drawings with high accuracy and precision.
- Additional Requirements:
- Willingness to work on-site during key project phases to coordinate drawings and provide support to site teams.
- Understanding of BIM (Building Information Modeling) processes is a plus.
- Ability to adapt to changes in design or project requirements during construction phases.
