Job Description
We are seeking a talented and visionary Chef de Cuisine to join our culinary team in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. As the Chef de Cuisine, you will lead our kitchen operations, create innovative menus, and ensure the highest standards of food quality and customer satisfaction.
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation
- Develop and implement new menu items, considering seasonal ingredients and culinary trends
- Collaborate with the Director of Culinary to manage food costs, inventory, and budget
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain the highest standards of hygiene
- Train, mentor, and supervise kitchen staff to maintain a high-performing culinary team
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth restaurant operations
- Conduct regular quality checks on food items to maintain consistency and excellence
- Manage kitchen equipment maintenance and recommend upgrades when necessary
- Participate in menu planning and pricing strategies to optimize profitability
- Foster a collaborative and innovative kitchen environment that encourages creativity and growth
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Chef de Cuisine or in a similar leadership role
- Extensive knowledge of culinary techniques, food preparation, and international cuisines
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse kitchen team
- Creativity in menu development and food presentation
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Proficiency in kitchen management software and inventory systems
- In-depth understanding of food cost control and budget management
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and HACCP principles
- Good reading, writing, and oral proficiency in English
- Ability to speak other languages and basic understanding of local languages is an advantage
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification(s) from a reputable Culinary school is preferred
- Adaptability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
