We are seeking a highly experienced Bus ITS Specialist with a strong background in public transport technology systems to join our Bus Operations team who manages the Bus Operator on behalf of the Employer. The successful candidate will act as the primary point of contact for all ITS-related matters with the Bus Operator, ensuring operational alignment, system integrity and contractual compliance across multiple stakeholders.


Responsibilities:


ITS Operations & Technical Oversight:


  • Serve as the central liaison between the Bus Operator, Employer and other stakeholders for all bus ITS-related systems, including AVLS, APC, OBVS, FMS, and on-board communications.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on the functionality, integration, and optimization of bus mounted ITS assets.
  • Oversee the delivery, testing, and deployment of Bus Operator’s-led ITS upgrade projects, including but not limited to:
    • Bus Wi-Fi upgrades.
    • OBVS (On-Board Video Surveillance) enhancements.
    • Monitor and support Bus Operator’s handling of real-time alerts and alarms related to:
    • APC (Automated Passenger Counting) sensors.
    • OBVS/CCTV incidents.
    • CITs (Communication & Information Technologies).
    • Coordinate the issuance and follow-up of APC data discrepancy analyses to Bus Operator’s via.
    • Aconex, ensuring timely resolution of their system’s faults and reporting.
    • Ensure accurate logging and traceability of ITS issues by supporting the Bus Operator’s in uploading alerts and root cause analyses into Maximo, enabling effective PMS/RCRC oversight.

Project & Contractual Management:


  • Support the planning, execution, and tracking of ITS-related initiatives within the framework of the Employer’s standards and project timelines.
  • Monitor compliance of Bus Operator’s ITS performance with contractual KPIs and SLAs.
  • Conduct regular audits and health checks on ITS assets and data reporting systems.
  • Provide technical reviews of Bus Operator’s submissions, reports, and change requests, ensuring alignment with PMS and RCRC expectations.
  • Collaborate with the KPI and Asset Management teams to ensure ITS system data informs broader performance analysis and strategic reporting.

Stakeholder Engagement & Reporting:


  • Maintain active coordination with the Bus Operator’s, Client and relevant ITS technology vendors to ensure seamless integration of systems and operational workflows.
  • Prepare and deliver regular progress reports, incident analyses, and technical summaries to internal stakeholders and Employer as required.
  • Assist in the training, knowledge transfer, and documentation of ITS workflows and standards for long-term sustainability.

Education & Experience:


  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Transport Systems, IT or a related field.
  • A Minimum of 10 years’ experience in ITS systems within the Bus transportation sector.
  • Proven experience with AVLS, APC, OBVS, and Buses’ on-board systems integration.
  • Strong understanding of asset management platforms (e.g., Maximo) and data discrepancy resolution.
  • Familiarity with contractual frameworks, KPI tracking, and audit procedures in a regulated transport environment.
  • Experience with vendor coordination and project management in complex, multi-stakeholder settings.

Mandatory Skills:


  • Knowledge of data analysis tools.
  • Proficient with Excel and other Microsoft office software.
  • Data oriented mind with attention to details.
  • Excellent communication verbal and written skills in English (Arabic would be a plus).
