Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Bridges Engineer with a minimum of 10 years of expertise in the design, construction, and management of bridge infrastructure within a PMO (Project Management Office) setting. The ideal candidate will oversee the planning and execution of large-scale bridge projects, ensuring they meet safety standards, regulatory requirements, and are delivered on time and within budget. This role involves close collaboration with the PMO and key stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, planning, and construction of bridge projects, ensuring structural integrity and safety.
- Develop detailed engineering designs, technical drawings, and project documentation using industry-standard software (e.g., CAD, BIM).
- Collaborate with the PMO to align bridge engineering tasks with the overall project scope, budget, and timeline.
- Oversee and provide technical guidance to on-site construction teams, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and quality standards.
- Conduct site assessments, surveys, and inspections to evaluate project feasibility and compliance with engineering standards.
- Manage the procurement and coordination of materials, subcontractors, and suppliers involved in the bridge project.
- Monitor and report on project progress using KPIs, updating the PMO and stakeholders regularly.
- Lead risk assessment and mitigation strategies to prevent project delays or budget overruns.
- Ensure bridge designs comply with local, state, and federal regulations as well as environmental and safety standards.
- Work closely with the PMO team and other stakeholders to ensure the project stays on track and all expectations are met.
- Prepare and present technical reports, designs, and project updates to senior management and clients.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
- At least 10 years of experience in bridge engineering, with significant involvement in PMO-driven projects.
- Proficiency in bridge design and analysis software (e.g., MIDAS, STAAD, AutoCAD, Revit).
- Strong project management skills, with experience managing large-scale bridge construction projects.
- In-depth knowledge of bridge construction techniques, materials, and regulations.
- Experience in risk management, budgeting, and resource allocation for infrastructure projects.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong familiarity with local and international bridge design standards and regulations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- PMP, CCP, or other relevant certifications.
- Experience working on government-funded or large-scale public infrastructure projects.
