Job Description

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

We do so by supporting and empathize with each other’s needs, sharing laughs, sharing the load and most of all being aware that at the end of the day we are all on the same boat, literally. As a team, we carry on the day-to-day responsibilities and all kinds of common logistical tasks to ensure the smoothest running of the operations.

Duties and responsibilities include:

- Adhere to PADI standards relevant to dive site depths and conditions.

- Adhere to Opal Diving Club standards of procedures.

- Welcome customers and help with diving operations.

- Facilitate the choice of the daily dive sites with the diving team according to the diving operations agenda.

- Carry on pre-post activity boating equipment preparation and care.

- Conduct boat briefings as required.

- Ensure the highest boat and Opal safety standards are respected always.

- Carry on day-to-day cleaning and/or maintenance of the diving vessels and its components.

- Effectively manage guests’ requests and complaints.

In addition:

Pre-Opening

- Work alongside the Diving Manager to set-up and deliver the diving vessels and necessary components.

- Assist Diving Manager with new dive sites research.

- Assist with and facilitate relations, paperwork and operations with coast guard.

Post-Opening

- Support the implementation of all Opal policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure the dive center runs smoothly, consistently, and under proper control.

- Support the implementation of safety, quality, and environmental policies to ensure safety, legal compliance, high-quality service, and environmental responsibility.

- Ensure boat routine maintenance is scheduled and carried out when needed.

- Assist the Diving Manager in the smooth and efficient running of all boat operation.


RequirementsTechnical

- Boating licenses TBD

- Clean police record.

- Minimum 5 year experience as captain of a diving boat.

- Vessel and engine maintenance knowledge.

- Fluent in English and Arabic is a must.

- Working knowledge of boating tours, allowing for delivery of a “wow” experience.

- Working knowledge of boating equipment, engines and navigational tools.

- Knowledge of Yanbu and/or Red Sea marine life seasons.

Personal

- Excellent communicator and public talking.

- Able to work with different cultures and nationalities.

- Well organized and punctual is a must.

- Enthusiastic, hard-working and safety oriented.

- Customer service focused with excellent interpersonal skills.

Desirable Skills

- Whale shark spotting knowledge and experience (preferably in Yanbu).

- Experience working within the luxury hospitality sector.
