BIM Modeler - Electrical

We are seeking a skilled and experienced BIM Modeler - Electrical to join our MEP team on a high-profile Tunnel Construction MEP Fit-Out project. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating, maintaining, and managing functional related BIM Models, producing accurate and detailed technical drawings, layouts, and as-built plans for the tunnel infrastructure. The role demands a deep understanding of tunnel-specific design requirements, coordination with multidisciplinary teams, and adherence to stringent safety and technical standards.

• BIM Modeling and Design Development:
  • Prepare detailed mechanical BIM models, schematics, wiring diagrams, single-line diagrams, and layouts for tunnel lighting, power distribution, earthing, fire alarms, communication systems, and other electrical components using Revit.
  • Convert conceptual designs into detailed shop drawings, coordinating with the design and engineering teams.
  • Generate shop drawings, installation details, and as-built drawings as per project requirements.
  • Ensure all drawings adhere to relevant standards, codes, and project specifications, including National Electrical Code (NEC), BS standards, and tunnel-specific regulations.
• BIM Integration:
  • Developing BIM modeling and coordination for electrical services, ensuring 3D models are compatible with overall project BIM requirements.
  • Participate in clash detection and resolution meetings to ensure seamless MEP system integration.
• Coordination with Engineering Teams:
  • Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and civil engineers to integrate all MEP services in the tunnel’s overall design.
  • Coordinate with structural and architectural draughtsmen to avoid clashes and ensure alignment between systems.
  • Review mechanical designs to ensure constructability and compliance with project requirements.
  • Update drawings based on feedback from design engineers, project managers, and site teams.
• Quality Assurance and Documentation:
  • Perform self-checks and quality control on drawings to ensure accuracy, clarity, and completeness.
  • Maintain an organized library of all drawing revisions and changes in compliance with document control procedures.
  • Prepare and submit drawing submittals for review and approval by consultants and clients.
• Field Coordination and Support:
  • Collaborate with site teams and assist in interpreting drawings for installation purposes.
  • Visit the project site to gather necessary information for drafting updates and modifications.
  • Modify drawings to reflect on-site changes and red-line markups from site teams.

• Education:
  • Diploma or certification in Electrical Drafting, Electrical Engineering
  • Certifications in Revit, or BIM technology,
• Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the construction industry, with a focus on tunnel construction, infrastructure, or large-scale MEP projects.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems design for infrastructure, including power distribution, lighting, control systems, and low voltage systems.
  • Familiarity with tunnel-specific electrical components such as tunnel lighting, emergency lighting, ventilation systems, SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition), and fire safety systems.
  • Knowledge of relevant codes and standards (e.g., NEC, IEC, BS, local regulations).
• Technical Skills:
