Job purpose statement
- IT/PLC activities on site
- Responsible for the preparation, execution and reporting of operations technical activities.
- Responsible services restoration and for solving errors within the system.
Scope
- IT/PLC activities as described in service contract.
- Having direct contact with line manager and the site team to report on system functions and performance.
- Provide system restoration services to users on best practices and effective use of IT/ PLC systems.
- Ability to work independently on shifts.
- Knowledge of BHS IT related principles and best practices.
Qualification and abilities
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field, with minimum 5 years’ experience in BHS IT.
- Team builder and support for work floor supervision.
- Intermediate knowledge of PLC to support IT & Controls engineer on site.
- Proven experience as an IT Technician or similar role.
- Experience with various operating systems (Windows, Linux) and software applications.
- Familiarity with different types of PLC network management and troubleshooting.
- Communicate, read, and write the English language (mid to high level).
- Proper communicative capabilities.
- Strong focus to response time and service restoration.
- Preferred experience on server/client structures/SAN/Network device/CCTV.
- Preferred experience in dealing with current Windows/Linux systems and VMware as well ideally.
- Preferred good hardware knowledge with HPE and Cisco.
Responsibilities
- Identify and report problems to support Root Cause Analysis.
- Provide first-line support to end-users for hardware, software, and network-related issues via phone, email, or in-person.
- Self-reliant in a wide variety of interrelated IT & controls tasks (vocational education).
- Support operations and IT Controls engineer to monitor and perform regular health checks on HLC/PLC.
- Assist in managing and troubleshooting operational related network issues, including LAN, WAN, and Wi-Fi connections.
- Anticipates problems which disturb the daily operation (tactfully address colleagues).
- Improves own way of working and identifies aspects that needs improvement.
- Maintain accurate records of all IT/PLC assets, issues, and resolutions.
- Knowledge of windows administration (Vmware) and ESX is preferred.
- Day to day activities and assessments of Health checkup of IT/PLC equipment.
- Installation, configuration of IT service products (for example antivirus, monitoring, backup services).
List of key activities
- Daily Inspections and fault findings on BHS IT/PLC equipment.
- Monitoring and control SAC.
- Assist operations manager in executing SOPs during break downs.
- IT/PLC spare part tracking.
- Coordinate with external vendors and service providers for technical support and warranty services.
- Continuous improvement of system performance.
- Ensure high levels of user satisfaction by providing timely and effective response.
- Control and improve operational methods.
- Support to prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports concerning problems and incidents.
- Work closely with other team members to support activities and initiatives
