Job Description
Ensure completion of automation and control systems’ maintenance jobs with the highest level of quality, safety and effectiveness at minimum cost to maximise equipment availability.
Providing technical assistance to Operations for troubleshooting the installed control systems and instrumentation.
Troubleshoot plant equipment and systems and propose modifications to existing processes and automation strategies.
1.0 DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Adhere to automation standards focused on DCS and PLC’s.
- Directs modification, installation, maintenance and repair of operations computers/PLC equipment and systems.
- Evaluates and implements cost savings opportunities for the equipment and facilities.
- Investigate possible solutions to engineering problems, exercising innovation and engineering judgment to identify the optimum method or technique for automating the process.
- Provide support of existing control systems platforms such as developing and implementing system backup and restore procedures.
- To be involved in hands-on calibration and troubleshooting and diagnosis on the plant breakdowns.
- Ensure proper day-to-day scheduling of works and necessary resources. Assign and review work to perform with the staff.
- Responsible for programming and maintaining PLC software, including modification and customization.
- Carry out the programming and validation for the commissioning of new or modified equipment.
- Provide automation support for process optimization.
- Support instrumentation technicians and assist maintenance with technical issues.
- Maintaining appropriate documentation related to equipment maintenance, processes, performance and analyzing it as appropriate to determine and capitalize on best practices.
- Manage automation system accounts and system security strategy.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
