The RoleThe AspenTech Digital Grid Management (DGM) business unit is looking for an Associate Software Developer interested in creating and maintaining full-stack web applications and automation tools to support our software operations.
In this role, you will be a member of an Agile development team that designs and implements complex installation utilities critical to the successful deployment of DGM software to our partners in the energy industry. This role’s contributions have highly visible impacts to the success of our business and the success of our software deployments.

Your Impact- Develop and support an ecosystem of full-stack web applications to automate the DGM software design, build, and deployment processes
- Collaborate with other developers, architects, and stakeholders to design and implement best -in-class software.
- Design and implement reliable, performant, and fault tolerant code based on requirements and/or user stories.
- Ensure reliable code by developing unit tests and test automation tools.
- Assist in code and design reviews.
- Train and mentor other team members in your area of expertise.
- Take part in agile team ceremonies such as scrum, sprint planning, and retrospective.
- Investigate, isolate, and identify solutions to reported software malfunctions.
- Create tools that provide insights to developers, engineers, and leadership across the organization.
What You'll Need
- Experience with object orientated programming languages such as Java, C++, C#, Python.
- Experience with JavaScript web-development frameworks.
- Experience developing and using RESTful web services.
- Experience with both relational and NOSQL databases.
- Experience using Git and GitHub for source control.
- General knowledge of and ability to translate customer requirements into technical specifications and documentation.
- Experience in identifying, communicating, and resolving problems in a collaborative, professional manner.
- Ability to adapt to feedback and changing requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related technical field.
- Opportunities to travel may arise but are not required.
Preferred
- Prior experience with Java, Python, and Angular strongly preferred.
- Prior experience with MSSQL and MongoDB strongly preferred.
- Basic experience with user interface design and adjusting approach to user interaction and feedback.
- Understanding of algorithms and complex data structures.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities at once.
- Strong self-awareness. Able to know one’s abilities, commit to due dates, and hold oneself accountable.
The salary range for this role is $70,700 to $88,400. This range represents what we in good faith believe is the range possible for base compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range based on several factors. This range may be modified in the future. This role is also eligible for bonus or variable incentive pay. Additionally, we offer a comprehensive benefits package including paid time off, charitable giveback day, medical/dental/vision insurance, and retirement benefits to eligible employees.
