Job Summery
The Associate Executive Director of Nursing Services plays a pivotal role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality nursing care within the healthcare facility. This position requires a strategic leader who can effectively manage nursing operations, foster a positive work environment, and enhance patient care.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN): Required.
- Master’s degree in nursing or healthcare administration required.
- PHD in Health administrations is preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of 20 Years of Nursing Experience: Required.
- At Least 5 Years in a Leadership Role as director of nursing.
- Experience in Healthcare Management: Highly valued.
- Experience in Hospitals with JCI accreditation and Magnet accreditations aswell.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Leadership and Management:
- Oversee daily operations of nursing departments, ensuring adequate staffing and workflow efficiency.
- Provide mentorship and support to nursing managers and staff, promoting professional development.
- Collaborate with the Executive Director to formulate, review, and update nursing policies and procedures.
- Ensure policies align with current best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations of nursing managers, providing feedback and identifying areas for improvement.
2. Quality Assurance:
- Ensure nursing practices comply with regulations, accreditation standards, and organizational policies.
- Conduct audits and evaluations of nursing practices to ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Lead initiatives aimed at improving patient safety, such as infection control measures and fall prevention programs.
- Analyze incidents and develop strategies to mitigate risks.
3. Strategic Planning:
- Work with the executive team to set short-term and long-term goals for nursing services.
- Identify emerging trends in healthcare and incorporate them into nursing strategies.
- Assess staffing needs and allocate resources effectively to meet patient demands and optimize service delivery.
4. Patient Care:
- Advocate for a patient-centered approach to care, ensuring that nursing staff prioritize patient needs and preferences.
- Address complex patient care issues and facilitate resolutions to enhance patient satisfaction.
- Promote collaboration among healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care for patients.
- Participate in case management meetings to discuss patient progress and care plans.
5. Budget Management:
- Assist in developing annual nursing budgets, monitoring expenditures, and ensuring adherence to financial targets.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality care standards.
- Optimize the use of supplies and equipment within nursing departments to ensure efficient operations.
6. Collaboration:
- Foster strong relationships with other departments to promote teamwork and effective communication.
- Serve as a liaison between nursing services and other clinical departments.
- Participate in community outreach programs to promote health education and nursing services.
