Regular Full-Time Marine Struct Eng Today Requisition ID: 3455 Moffatt & Nichol specializes in large complex waterfront infrastructure projects and is recognized as one of the worldwide leaders in this field. We are actively searching for a Maritime Associate Director who with be involved with establishing our Middle East office. The role is to lead the client interface and business development function as well as undertake project management and lead of maritime projects such as terminal planning, structural and civil design, breakwaters, shoreline protection systems and small boat harbours as well as commercial and technical due diligence. This position will be outward client facing and will also work with teams across the company on a variety of projects to deliver projects for key clients across the region. It is envisaged that a team of project managers and key delivery experts will be built around the position.

Duties and responsibilities:

Establish standards, design approach and manage the technical analysis of maritime design projects Act as the conduit for regional based projects to design centers across the company and provide design, perform peer review, and oversee the design of other engineers Assist on Proposals and Business Development opportunities with new and existing clients Monitor and report on project scope and budget Build a team in region to support and front projects Actively participate in the training and development of junior staff Provide quality reviews of drawings and calculations Interact directly with clients
This is a management and design role. This individual will be responsible for leading a team as well as completing design work.

Qualifications:



Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural engineering; required Master's degree in Civil or Structural engineering; preferred Professional Registration or ability to gain through reciprocity within 6 months; required Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation) Availability and willingness to travel 10+ years of experience in Maritime / Waterfront Structural Engineering Design, Project Management, Business Development, and staff training and development. Know regional / local client pool and have relationships that will help with business development Experience as a Sr. Project / Program Manager providing structural design, perform peer review, and oversee the project design All new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171

Working conditions:



The work takes place mostly in an office environment. Must be able to work flexible hours (across multiple time zones) and to travel as and when required.

Physical requirements:



Sedentary for prolonged period of time, interact with clients, and travel occasionally.
