Job Description

Our guests’ safety and comfort always come first. Which is why we’re seeking out a master multi-tasker with the repair skills needed to keep our hotels looking and feeling their very best. Our new Assistant Engineering Manager working under the supervision of Chief Engineer, will lead and coach a small but talented engineering team to stay one step ahead of our everyday maintenance needs.


Your day to day


  • Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be:
  •  Directing daily engineering needs to ensure the right team is always on the right task.
     
  • Creating a safe, secure and comfortable environment for our guests to enjoy
  • Drive Preventive Maintenance Program set by the Chief Engineer
  • Perform daily checks around the hotel
  • Drive Energy management program & Goals set by the Management. 
  • Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned

Guest Experience


  • Help guests needs to ensure their satisfaction  
  • Use a maintenance programme to ensure the hotel is maintained and in service for our guests  

Responsible business 


  • Maintain and order parts and supplies whilst minimizing waste and maintaining “green” initiatives 
  • May be responsible for hotel security to minimize risk of theft, crime and other hazards 
  • Ad-hoc duties – unexpected moments when we have to pull together to get a task done 

Financial


  • Help prepare the departmental budget and financial plans financial and operational plans for the hotel  
  • Monitor budget and control expenses with a focus on energy management, preventive maintenance, and capital planning  
  • Lead hotel renovations and other projects, negotiate contracts, and ensure timely completion of projects within budget

What We need from you:


● Some college or advanced vocational training 


● Experience in general building maintenance and/or construction or equivalent combination of education and experience 


● Specialized expertise in plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and carpentry fields 


● Previous Hotel experience is mandatory 


● Professional certification and license if required by law
