Job Description
JOB PURPOSE: The Asset & Configuration Management Senior Specialist reports to Infrastructure Security Manager in NWC and is responsible for managing configuration items (CIs) and NWC assets.
The role is responsible to ensure accurate tracking, reporting, and auditing of all technology assets and CIs, maintaining an up-to-date inventory, and overseeing the Configuration Management Database (CMDB)
Core Accountabilities:
- Identify and document all NWC IT assets and configuration items, ensuring accurate classification and management within the CMDB
- Responsible to manage the inventory of NWC IT hardware and software assets, tracking their lifecycle from procurement to disposal
- Manage and update the configuration items (CI) and ensure systems are compliant, secure, and properly configured
- Perform regular audits and verifications of NWC IT assets and configurations to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations
- Collaborate with the Service Transition & Operations department to ensure that asset and configuration information is promptly updated after every release
- Coordinate changes to the CMDB, assessing the impact of these changes on production services and communicating implications to relevant stakeholders
- Enforce policies and procedures for asset and configuration management, ensuring best practices are followed across different NWC processes
- Carry out any other tasks requested by the direct manager or the superior that are within the limits of the job, provided that this task does not make a fundamental difference in the basic tasks of the job.
