Overview

We are seeking an Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Counsel to join our ADR Practice Area within Aramco’s Law Organization.


The Alternative Dispute Resolution Practice Area (ADRPA) is responsible for handling ADR proceedings (e.g., arbitrations) both locally and internationally as well as for supporting internal processes relating to contractual disputes including pre-disputes engagements, claims review and settlements. ADRPA also support relevant internal procurement committees in relation to contractual disputes.


Your primary role will be to oversee ADR activities impacting Aramco, including managing cases where Aramco is a named party, monitoring the ADR landscape for energy companies generally, tracking and advising on ADR matters managed by Aramco subsidiaries, as well as briefing management on ADR developments.




Key Responsibilities

As the successful candidate you will be required to perform the following:


  • Manage the company’s arbitrations and other ADR matters in coordination with Law Management and external counsel.
  • Monitor and consolidate reporting on ADR matters across the enterprise (e.g., review and monitor out-of-Kingdom subsidiaries’ and joint ventures’ ADR matters, as applicable), and in the energy sector generally.
  • Monitor legal, regulatory, and procedural developments in relation to ADR.
  • Provide training on key issues in connection with ADRs and construction/procurement claims.


Minimum Requirements
  • You must currently be licensed, admitted to practice, and in good standing in the United States, Canada, the European Union or the UK.
  • You should have a minimum of at least 6 years of hands-on experience at a large multinational corporation or law firm.
  • You should have at least 10 years of experience in overseeing complex arbitrations and other types of ADR.
  • Experience in briefing management about ADR cases, and ADR trends in the industry is required.
  • ADR/Arbitration experience, preferably in matters related to construction and procurement claims is also essential.
