1. Inspects,
troubleshoots, maintains, repairs, surveys and evaluates metals in aircraft and
support systems equipment to meet requirements for preservation.
2. Eliminates
deterioration effects of corrosion, accomplishes corrosion control and operates and
maintains aircraft wash racks.
3. Accomplishes
major aircraft structural repairs, troubleshoots structural repairs of plastic,
fiberglass, metal and extended aircraft structural components and supervises
airframe repair activities.
4. Prepares
aircraft sheet metal layouts and design templates.
5. Performs
aircraft sheet metal fanning operations and designs fanning dies.
6. Designs,
directs and performs the repair of bonded structures.
7. Troubleshoots
aircraft structural inspection and repair situations.
8. Performs
inspections on fabricated and repaired work items.
9. Designs,
directs and fabricates aircraft flexible control cables.
10.
Designs, directs and fabricates aircraft tubing assemblies.
11.
Conducts On-the-Job-Training (OJT) of assigned trainees.
1.Requires
a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in RSAF AFSC 24374 of which one (1)
year must be at the seven (7) level on high performance fighter aircraft.
2. Qualification
as an F-15 Airframe Repair Specialist is mandatory.
3. In
addition, experience in performing or supervising functions such as fabrication
or repair of sheet metal or plastic aircraft structural components is
mandatory.
4. A
thorough knowledge of Corrosion Control techniques is mandatory.
5. A 12th grade education with courses in chemistry and physics is desirable.
