Role overview
The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for managing the full Accounts Payable cycle and ensuring compliance. The Accounts Payable Specialist plays a crucial role in managing the company’s financial obligations, maintaining positive vendor relationships, and ensuring accuracy and integrity of Accounts Payable transactions.
 


Main Responsibilities


  • Process accounts payable invoices and ensure timely and accurate payments to vendors.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounts payable records in accordance with accounting standards.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Ensure credit notes are accurately received and documented.
  • Communicate with vendors to resolve any issues related to payments or invoices.
  • Manage the accounts payable email inbox and respond to inquiries promptly and professionally.
  • Assist with month-end closing activities related to accounts payable, including reconciliations and accruals.
  • Prepare accounts payable aging reports and support the Treasury ops team in processing the payments.
  • Provide support for other  finance functions as needed.
  • Oversee petty cash, corporate cards, and the accurate recording and documentation of all expenses.

Ideal Candidate


Qualifications 


  • Must have a minimum of 3 years work experience as an Accountant
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables
  • Experience with general ledger functions
  • Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills
  • Must be a holder of any Accounting, Finance or relevant degree. 
  • Hands-on experience with accounting software like ZohoBooks and QuickBooks is a major plus 
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize effectively
