MEP Maintenance Engineer
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintenance Planning and Execution:
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules for all MEP systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal operation of MEP systems.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues in MEP systems, providing timely repairs to minimize downtime.
- System Monitoring and Performance:
- Monitor the performance of MEP systems to ensure they operate efficiently and effectively.
- Analyze system performance data to identify areas for improvement and recommend necessary upgrades or modifications.
- Ensure all MEP systems comply with relevant safety and performance standards.
- Team Coordination and Management:
- Coordinate with other engineers, technicians, and subcontractors to carry out maintenance tasks.
- Provide technical guidance and support to maintenance teams, ensuring that all work is performed to the highest standards.
- Manage maintenance records, including documentation of repairs, inspections, and system performance.
- Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure that all maintenance activities comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Conduct safety audits and inspections to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to MEP systems.
- Emergency Response:
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests, ensuring prompt and effective resolution of issues.
- Develop and implement emergency response plans for critical MEP systems.
- Participate in on-call rotations to provide after-hours support as needed.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for improving the efficiency and reliability of MEP systems.
- Recommend and implement energy-saving initiatives and sustainable practices.
- Stay informed about the latest advancements in MEP technology and maintenance practices.
Education and Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in MEP maintenance within the construction or facilities management industry.
- Proven experience in maintaining and troubleshooting HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of MEP systems, including design principles, installation practices, and maintenance procedures.
- Proficiency in maintenance management software and tools.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations (e.g., ASHRAE, NEC, NFPA, IPC).
- Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
