Responsibilities
This position requires an energetic and enthusiastic individual who will provide strategic leadership for all aspects of students’ interactions with the University from first interest, through application, registration, enrollment, attendance, graduation – the student life cycle. The overall objective is to increase student success through providing an enhanced experience and ensuring that support is available where required to meet student needs.
Candidates should have an outstanding record of industry experience in Student Affairs Management and possess the qualifications necessary to be successful in the role of Vice President, Student Affairs. The successful candidate is responsible to contribute to the formulation and implementation of UDST’s strategy, and to lead the development of the Student Affairs policies, procedures, and strategic enrollment plan. Responsibilities also include to oversee the effective management of the Student Affairs functions and the preparation of statistical studies and reports related to enrollment.
Candidates will coordinate with Senior Management and faculty across the University to support activities which enrich student engagement and oversee the development of co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. Candidates will be required to monitor the effectiveness of UDST’s learning resources and identify areas of improvement.
The Vice President, Student Affairs will also oversee the implementation of student counseling guidelines and the development of a student success plan.
Candidates will provide professional development support and perform periodic performance reviews for direct subordinates to contribute to the development of employees. Candidates will also contribute to the development of workforce plans for the Student Affairs Division and must have excellent organizational, leadership, decision-making, delegation and communications skills as well as the ability to act as a mentor to team members.
Qualifications
Education and Certifications:
Doctorate degree in a relevant discipline from a recognized, accredited institution.
Experience:
Minimum 15 years’ experience in a similar leadership role within a relevant discipline.
Language:
Fluency in written and spoken English language is required.
Fluency in written and spoken Arabic language is mandatory.
