About the Role
As the Technical Business Intelligence Manager, you will play a pivotal role in steering the Technical Business Intelligence (TBI) Strategy across various business units within your assigned portfolio. Your focus will be on specific projects that enhance our technical intelligence capabilities and drive business performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategy Delivery: You will be responsible for the successful implementation and ongoing management of the TBI Strategy, ensuring its alignment with our business objectives.
- Data Products & Dashboard Creation: You will leverage your expertise in data and analytics to create comprehensive data products and oversee the development of sophisticated dashboards and analytical models to provide actionable insights into maintenance operations.
- Stakeholder Management: You will collaborate with senior leadership from maintenance, engineering, and other key stakeholders to identify data needs and deliver tailored BI solutions.
- Communication & Collaboration: You will communicate effectively with various business teams, providing them with valuable analytical insights on performance and trends. Your role will involve working closely with these teams to identify areas of opportunity and drive performance improvement.
This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong understanding of business intelligence principles, excellent data and analytics skills, and the ability to translate complex data into actionable business insights. Your work will directly influence the strategies of our Technical department and contribute to our overall business success.
Accountabilities:
- Lead and manage the Technical Business Intelligence team deliverables for the assigned portfolio.
- Support data quality, accuracy, and enhancement within the TBI area of responsibilities.
- Be a point of reference for building data and analytics capabilities for relevant stakeholders.
- Work with TBI leadership to revise the annual strategy for the assigned portfolio.
- Develop the implementation strategy in collaboration with the Head of TBI.
- Train, coach, and mentor colleagues in Business Intelligence implementation.
- Communicate effectively between the TBI team and key stakeholders regarding requirements.
- Build and sustain best data and analytics practices by communicating and advocating successful practices across the Group.
- Act as a consultant between the business and TBI to optimize outcomes.
- Provide regular feedback to internal stakeholders on performance trends and improvement opportunities pertaining to the assigned portfolio.
Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent with a minimum of 6 years of job-related experience.
- Experience in preparing and giving presentations on business performance to senior management.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role with a focus on Tableau and Alteryx.
- Proven experience in managing a team of data analysts or business intelligence professionals.
- Experience in deriving insights from data and submitting actionable recommendations to management.
- Experience working on projects concentrating on digital transformation, continuous improvement, and enhancements is essential for this role.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with employees at all levels in the organization.
Technical Skills and Proficiencies:
- Tableau: Expertise in using Tableau for creating dashboards and data visualization. The candidate should be able to connect Tableau to various types of data sources and create insightful reports. Knowledge of Tableau Server for publishing, scheduling, and sharing dashboards is required.
- Alteryx: Proficiency in using Alteryx for advanced data analytics. This includes data preparation, blending, and analysis. The candidate should be able to create complex workflows, macros, and apps in Alteryx. Experience with predictive analytics is a plus.
Certifications:
- Alteryx Designer Core/Advanced certification is preferred.
- Tableau Desktop Qualified Associate or Tableau Desktop Certified Professional certification is preferred.
- Data Analysis and Machine Learning: Experience with data analysis and machine learning tools in Google Cloud Platform such as BigQuery ML, AutoML, and AI Platform.
