Job Description
The successful candidate should exhibit considerable potential and enthusiasm for offering hands-on support to students during lab sessions, guiding them through the configuration and troubleshooting of network devices. Furthermore, he/she is expected to uphold the department's commitment to excellence in teaching and committee services, while also cultivating an inclusive and collaborative academic environment.
Qualifications & Required Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, or a closely related field.
- Expertise in teaching labs and hands-on experiences in the areas of Cybersecurity, such as cryptography, network security, secure software development, digital forensics, and cyber threat intelligence.
- Preferably one to two years of experience in education or industry. Work experience in the GCC is preferred but not mandatory
- Professional qualifications are advantageous, but not essential.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary academic environment, fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Ability to communicate effectively in both Arabic and English languages.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Collaborate with instructors to prepare and deliver lectures, workshops, and lab sessions on cybersecurity topics, emphasizing the utilization of technical tools and configurations.
- Provide hands-on assistance to students during lab sessions, guiding them through the configuration and troubleshooting of network devices, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Contribute to the development of course materials, assignments, and assessments tailored to incorporate practical exercises utilizing cybersecurity tools such as Forensic, Kali Linux, Wireshark, and IDS/IPS systems.
- Assist in grading assignments, projects, and exams, offering detailed feedback to students to enhance their understanding and proficiency in utilizing technical cybersecurity tools and configurations.
- Lead discussions and review sessions to reinforce key concepts related to network security, routing and switching configurations, and troubleshooting methodologies.
- Stay updated on the latest developments and trends in cybersecurity, particularly in areas related to network security tools, programming languages (such as C++ and Python), and intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS).
- Provide guidance and support to students in designing and implementing effective network security architectures, including firewall configurations and network segmentation strategies.
- Assist in the setup, maintenance, and management of cybersecurity lab environments, ensuring the availability of necessary hardware, software, and configurations for practical exercises.
- Assist in determining the equipment and tool requirements of the department, and selecting the most appropriate options.
