Job Description & Summary


At PwC, our people in tax services focus on providing advice and guidance to clients on tax planning, compliance, and strategy. These individuals help businesses navigate complex tax regulations and optimise their tax positions.
In tax accounting services at PwC, you will assist businesses in preparing and reviewing tax provisions, tax returns, and financial statements, confirming compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations.

You are responsible for coaching, leveraging team member’s unique strengths, and managing performance to deliver on client expectations. With your growing knowledge of how business works, you play an important role in identifying opportunities that contribute to the success of our Firm. Examples of the skills, knowledge, and experiences you need to lead and deliver value at this level include but are not limited to:


General Ledger Oversight and Development:


  • Establish and manage the General Ledger (GL) function, ensuring accurate and timely posting, reconciliation, and maintenance of GL accounts.
  • Develop scalable policies and procedures for GL processes that accommodate the startup’s evolving needs and support growth.
  • Align GL practices with company objectives, contributing insights for long-term financial strategy

Statutory Financial Reporting and Analysis:


  • Prepare, review, and ensure accuracy in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, providing actionable insights for decision-making.
  • Support in appointing the external auditors and tax advisors of the company.
  • Support management reporting, conducting variance analyses, and preparing ad-hoc financial data for rapid performance assessments.
  • Implement efficient reporting processes to accommodate the startup’s fast-paced growth and changing requirements.

Chart of Accounts (CoA) Revision and Management:


  • Assess, design, and implement a flexible, scalable chart of accounts (CoA) that supports the startup’s financial structure and reporting needs.
  • Regularly review and optimize the CoA to ensure it reflects the evolving business operations and supports accurate financial reporting.
  • Collaborate with finance and operational teams to ensure the CoA meets reporting and tracking requirements.

Reconciliations and Month-End Close:


  • Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes, balancing accuracy with speed to meet deadlines and maintain data integrity.
  • Oversee account reconciliations, ensuring all GL accounts reflect accurate balances, and promptly resolve discrepancies.
  • Design and document closing processes suitable for a startup, prioritizing flexibility and efficiency.

Compliance, Tax Environment Setup:


  • Set up a tax environment that complies with relevant local, and tax laws, ensuring readiness for audits.
  • Oversee the preparation and filing of statutory reports and tax filings, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain startup-friendly internal controls and documentation practices to facilitate efficient compliance and statutory reporting.
