Job Description

Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced tailor to join our team, specializing in the alteration and fitting of evening dresses and gowns. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, be familiar with high-end fashion, and possess expertise in adjusting and creating custom evening wear. The tailor will ensure that every dress and gown fits perfectly, maintaining the highest standards of craftsmanship and client satisfaction.


Key Responsibilities:

** Alterations and Fittings:

  • Perform alterations on a wide range of evening dresses and gowns, including but not limited to hemming, resizing, taking in or letting out, adjusting sleeves, straps, and adding custom details.
  • Provide fitting consultations with clients to determine their needs and offer expert advice on design and alterations.
  • Ensure all alterations are completed within the required time frame and meet the quality standards set by the store.

** Customizations and Repairs:

  • Customize dresses and gowns based on customer specifications, including adding embellishments, beading, and other decorative elements.
  • Perform repairs on damaged or worn dresses and gowns, ensuring a seamless and professional result.** Client Interaction:
  • Offer personalized advice to clients on the fit, design, and customization of evening wear.
  • Create an exceptional customer experience by being attentive to their needs, ensuring their comfort, and providing a high level of service.

** Quality Control:

  • Inspect each gown or dress after alterations to ensure the highest quality craftsmanship and finish.
  • Maintain clean and organized workstations, ensuring all tools and equipment are in good working condition.

** Collaboration:

  • Work closely with the sales and design teams to ensure that the dress or gown aligns with customer preferences and expectations.
  • Assist in providing feedback regarding garment fit and trends for future design and stock considerations.

** Inventory Management:

  • Keep track of all fabrics, notions, and tools required for alterations and repairs.
  • Ensure efficient management of garment inventory, ensuring timely alterations and proper storage.
