Job Description
1. JOB SCOPE:
Study and develop conceptual designs, prepare detailed engineering solutions, plan, monitor and coordinate all assigned modifications (projects) with project team for a wide range of tasks related to discipline scope. Act as a key focal point for in-house/subcontracted engineering. Review of engineering studies conducted in line with defined requirements, industry best practices and contractual agreements.
2. PROJECT MANAGEMENT:
Coordinate discipline review and approval of design and interfaces with Contractor on Company requirements and specifications.
Review and approve all related technical documents and coordinate with supervisor.
Review and advice on layouts, site preparation, pipeline systems, etc. during technical evaluation stage of bidders proposals to assess technical capability and ensure compliance with project specifications.
Ensure projects mechanical piping engineering design and engineering activities are executed according to specification, within budget, with the contract scope of work and meets time schedules.
Coordinate and provide engineering support for construction activities, including the assurance that engineering details required for construction are provided.
Review and approve modifications (projects) as-built documents.
3. DESIGN AND ENGINEERING:
Conduct site verification with relevant documents (P&ID, GAD, ISO, etc.) and data collection of existing and new facilities as part of study preparation.
Carry out the design and technical reviews for all areas of work covered in mechanical/piping engineering projects while evaluating requests and recommending appropriate solutions and proposing changes as necessary within the defined project scope and protocols to facilitate achievement of defined objectives.
Consults with representatives of Process, Construction, Maintenance, Inspection, Operation, Reliability, etc. to ensure that designs meet the objectives.
POSITION TITLE:
PIPING ENGINEER/SENIOR PIPING ENGINEER

Execute verification, studies and detail design following best engineering practices and optimization in term of cost, construction simplicity, operability, and maintainability, HSSE, etc.
Prepares design specifications for piping works such as routing, supports, flexibility analysis, material of construction, etc.
Develops calculations for piping wall thickness, reinforcement pad, verification for flow velocity, etc.
Develops functional and drain/collection system (water, sewage, oil, etc.) layouts.
Prepares supply and services purchase specifications.
Develops studies for new installation equipment layout to optimize the available space with respect to best engineering practice.
Prepares MTOs and BOQs.
Prepares Scope of Work and technical specification for piping construction subcontracts.
Prepares technical documentation for piping material requisition.
Carry out technical evaluations.
Preparation of mechanical design, constructive drawings of piping installation and plot plans drawings.
4. HEALTH, SAFETY, SECURITY, ENVIRONMENT AND QUALITY:
Ensure compliance to all relevant health, safety, security, environmental and quality management procedures.
To work closely with HSSE on related tasks.
Ensure updating documentations related to modifications (projects).
Participate in modifications (projects) risk assessments studies such as HAZOP, etc.
5. REPORTS:
Provide regular progress report related to assigned modifications (projects).
Preparation of specific reports upon request.
6. INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL COMMUNICATIONS:

Project team, Requester (project owner), Inventory, Procurement and other relevant parties.

7. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:
7.1 QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in discipline Engineering.
7.2 EXPERIENCE
Minimum Experience for discipline Engineer position:
8 years of experience in design/engineering in the field of Oil and Gas/Petrochemical industry.
Good knowledge of discipline design/engineering with sufficient experience in different discipline areas.
Minimum Experience for discipline Senior Engineer position:
12 years of experience in design/engineering in the field of Oil and Gas/Petrochemical industry.
In-depth knowledge of discipline design/engineering with wide experience in multi-discipline areas.
7.3 SKILLS
Job-Specific Skills (Technical):
Knowledge of piping design/engineering.
Familiar with static and rotating equipment.
Familiar with mechanical equipment package systems.
Knowledge of support and insulation types for different services.
Knowledge of manual valve types and its suitability for different application, as well as pressure relief valves.
Familiar with Industrial/International Piping Codes & Standards and able to identify and analyse different piping systems, for instance (API, ANSI, ASME, DIN, etc.).
Generating of ISO and GAD sketches based on site conditions, above and underground piping.
Interpreting of PFD/PID and transfer it to piping drawings ready for construction.
Understanding equipment requirements connected to piping system.
Using Caesar II for static and dynamic piping stress analysis.

Prepares design sketches and drawings of various facilities based on modification requests, design calculations, field measurements, codes and standards.
Makes the required mechanical calculations on computer/by hand.
Assist in inspection during testing and evaluate test results of equipment.
